Vampire Diaries problem compressing

I have been trying to compress Vampire Diaries from BD 50 to BD25. I keep getting stuck at less than 1% done and then Windows 7 tells me it must close DVDFab because it stopped functioning. I am using Win 7, and an Athlon 2 quadcore for this.

In December another board member had trouble with this title and was advised to exchange his original. My problem is slightly different since to disk copied easily but refused to compress to fit a 25 GB BD.

Any help would be appreciated. Log files were truncated to fit here.

DO you have the iso mounted to a virtual drive? If you do not then install DVDFab virtual drive and mount the iso before you start DVDFab to compress. If that does not work then instead of saving as iso save as folder then compress the folder

I tried the first solution, and it too failed. I will try the second suggestion next.

Vampire Diarys won't Compress with this version DVDFAB

DO you have the iso mounted to a virtual drive? If you do not then install DVDFab virtual drive and mount the iso before you start DVDFab to compress. If that does not work then instead of saving as iso save as folder then compress the folder

I have tried all of the suggestions and exchanged old copy of vampire Diarys for a new copy. Version 7 of DVDFAB will compress but does not make a good copy either.

Any other suggestions from anyone?

SO that log is 50GB output file? You copied VD to your drive as a 50GB file then you are re-running through fab again to compress? What about he original log of the copy to the HDD? Also the Fab you are using is a bit outdated you should step upto .7.3

No Dice, Latest DVDFAB can't compete with Vampires

RUNNING OVER 4 HOURS THE SOFTWARE COMPRESSED LESS THAN 1%. Unlike previous attempts the software was still running.

I highly suggest you eliminate part of the beginning of the movie, if you can, as well as the credits by choosing Main Movie and Title Start/End Settings. It can do wonders for the quality of your copy and it just might even put you within the uncompressed threshold. Also, change your default 25GB disc size to a higher number to help out with this. Go to Settings > DVD / Blu-ray > Write > Blu-ray > Writable Media (BD-25) Size > Customize... I custom set mine to 23900MB and it does make a difference as far as quality is concerned.

Thanks for the great suggestions. I will use them on movies that are just over the limit in size. Unfortunately the Vampire Diaries is a disk with about six fifty minute episodes. Each episode fits on a DL DVD disk uncompressed. For some reason DVDFAB has trouble with this title even uncompressed. I made a DV9 BD of episode 1 and it was awful. I think I will continue with my version 7 solution until FAB can handle Vampires.
