Hi there, I successfully backed up Aliens with 8.0.7.3. First, backed up movie only without HD audio on my hard drive, then applied compression (using software only codec) and got 69% compression rate, and burned using imgBurn. Plays fine in my PS3.

This issue with fastforward is still present tough, I can go with 1.5X, but 10X does'nt work (I have to skip scene back or forward to get the movie back if I hit 10X fastforward).

"This issue with fastforward is still present tough"

Have you experienced that problem with your PS3 ?

I have a Samsung standalone player, and I still cannot use fast forward/rewind when the title has been compressed.

Again, this is an OLD issue that doesn't seem to get resolved.

      Thanks for reporting it!

yes, using PS3 and the movie was indeed compressed.

Wow, it is said here that the PS3 is the best blu ray player available. I had assumed that the fast forward/rewind issue was only for other standalone players and that it worked on the ps3.

I am blown away that it has been broken this long, even on the ps3.

          thanks for the info.

I don't own a PS3, but I can say it is one of the best players out because of upgrade ability!! If you want a 3D Bluray player you would have to purchase a new stand alone player not PS3 they just pushed out a FW update and its done!! But it does have its ups and downs!!

I too would like to report fast forward and fast reverse freezes , after trying compression to fit a full movie on a25 BD R..

This occurs on both a Sony BDPs-300 and a Sharp BD-HP70U standalone but not on the PowerDVD software player.

Of the 8 movies I compressed, ALL of them have this problem. In Cold Blood, Gone with the Wind, Days of Heaven, Doctor Zhivago, Time Bandits, Easy Rider, Mad Max, and Pan's Labyrinth. However in every case the popup menu can be called and a scene can be restarted.

Just as a control, yesterday I compressed Pan's Labyrinth, In cold Blood and Gone with the wind using a different software as a test to see whether it was repeated. All of them worked properly.

I love the versatility and ease of Fab, please let me know if there are any patches or updates which will solve this.

                Thank you.
