Best Size Setting for BD-R 25GB Disc?

Hi all,what's the best size for BD-R 25GB Disc's in DvdFab write settings? I see they changed it from 23700 to 23000? Was this changed because of errors in image burn? or for so other reason? anyone know why it was changed? My Disc's in Image burn show an I.D. (INFOME-R30-000) whatever that means. Thankyou.

The ID is the manufacture of the disc! And Fab settings should work just fine! If it aint broke dont fix it!

Hi;problem is I am getting errors in image burn,all of a sudden.Just started doing this,was ok.Image burn errors,(1) Failed to write sectors 0-31-reason-program memory update Failure.It re-try's and then it goes.(2nd) Image burn error at end of burn,Finalize Failed-reason-cannot write medium incompatible format,I close it and the burn turn's out fine,plays ok on computer and in player? Why all of a sudden these errors? I have DvdFab set to 23700 for these 25GB Disc's.Is this setting ok.?

If thats the recommended settings in Fab then you should be OK!! If I ever have any issues with ImgBurn, I post them on the Imgburn forum!! LighteningUK is real good at support for his product!! Post your info over there and see if he cant answer for you!!

I set mine to 23900 and it works beautifully. Why not get a little more on the disc while lessening the need to compress the movie?

Why not leave the settings as they are and not worry about getting a coaster? The amount you save you are not gonna notice any diff in quality and compression time well it depends!! But when you get that one disc or press of discs that cant take the setting well guess what!

I haven't got any coasters since doing this or I would have mentioned it. I have discovered a few movies that would have otherwise needed to be compressed if it wasn't for increasing this size. The resulting reduced compression percentage for many movies makes a heck of a difference. Just because you find no desire to do this doesn't mean others won't. Why the snarky attitude?

Its not a snarky attitude!! There are millions options you can change in Fab!! I have them set as Fab comes and have never had a problem!! If the settings weren't meant to be changed, then why is there the option to do so. If Superfist wants to try it and it works, good for him. I have a disc that is at 97% with the original settings. I may try 23900 just to see if i can get it to fit, and avoid the compression.

I changed the target size to 23000 from 22000, and there was no compression needed, and it burned fine. Gotta like the option to tweek just a bit.

The thread is titled best settings for a 25GB disc! Not what settings users think are best!! I'm not saying change stuff and when you do if it works great thats your option!!! But once you start telling people THAT ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS to change settings its not a good thing!! As the forum is for advice its all welcomed!! And once again as the thread states the settings that Fab are set with are the best settings! Also let me know how the 23.9 goes for you since a BDR is only 23.3 available space

If the developers didn't want people fiddling with settings to avoid unnecessary compressing, then they wouldn't have put them there. Anyone who changes the default settings and incurs problems afterward with files too big will have to accept it is there fault and not the software. In most cases the default settings will work just fine, but the odd time having the option to make minor changes is welcome and acceptable. Cheers to the developers for allowing this function.

My bad!! You must have been just acting like an A@@!! I was going off of your post!! 23900 = 23.9Gb?? And I don't have an ego what I do have is no problems with Fab and I don't suggest to people to make problems with Fab!! And if you read the OP it still does not ask for users to tell what fiddling they have done!! Maybe you should contact Fab and tell them to change the recommended setting to what you have cause they got it wrong!
