    XIII conspiracy

I haven't seen this before, the blu ray has 2 movies on it, one in french and the other in English, so I do a movie only copy in English uncompressed to the HD. It goes great until it reaches 78% then the read speed starts dropping until the copy gets to 78+% then the read speed is at 0.01 and stays there. the computer itself slows to a crawl to where it takes 30 or 40 sec to load a browser. the system is a AMD Phenom II X6 with 16 gig of ram and a GTX 580 video card running win7 64. it has taken 2 hrs to go from 78% to 79%.

I had this happen to me with Iron Man 2 and another movie that I can't think of at the moment. So I got fed up and used a well known program, axxxxxhd and ripped it to my hard drive and let fab then copy it to its temp folder. Fab was still very slow but it didn't stop and it got thru in just a few minutes. Read the info on the new beta version of fab 8076B I think it is. It says faster scanning for these problem movies.
Sorry, just saw that you posted under 8076B. Are you using it? If you have a log you'll have to post it for the experts to read.

nope, does the same thing. starts slowing from 9 meg at 78% and by 78.60 it is down to 0.001 with no cpu activity
          v8.0.7.6 dated 25/02/2011

wait... it did finish and it said it skipped 25 sectors and the movie is incomplete. let me try a full disk copy to hd then do main

Few questions? Are you compressing a 50GB down to a 25GB? Are you riping the entire movie to the HDD and then compressing on the HDD? And can you please post your logs?

it will be the internal.log and just copy and paste!! But not the whole log just the time you are having problems with the movie! It will have the version date and time most likley the last one on the log if you have not burned anymore movies!

ERROR 102 is a read error indicating a dirty, scratched or otherwise unreadable disk. Do as Ernielee suggested above and try again.

the disk is new with no smudges or scratches. It plays fine I just like to have a back-up and put the original away.
