    BD9 720 vs BD9 1080 Audio constant vs variable

    2 questions here:

I have done some tests on the same Blu Ray with interesting results:

    1.
BD9 720 came out with a bitrate of 8500kbps and constant audio bitrate of 1510kbps and an overall file size of 7.52gb

BD9 1080 came out with a bitrate of 10.8Mbps and a variable audio bitrate and an overall file size of 7.81gb

Out of interest which is the better? Larger resolution at the cost of the audio or smaller resolution with better audio?

    2.
Also - why does the 1080 version hae variable audio bitrate? why can't we have constant?

    Thanks. eon

Which one is better? It's all subjective, what do you think is better? personally I prefer the better picture but actually I can't really notice a difference, they both look and sound great. As for your second question, that'll be better answered by someone more knowledgable.

Yes, totally agree - I should have said subjective in my original question.
