not sure what your problem might be...

but my opinion is to set up Fab to use Imgburn, and stop using VSO burn engine.

You will probably get better results.

Would there be something in my windows 7 settings that would be causing this problem. I looked in autoplay settings but am not sure what the setting should be set on for fab. Don't understand this because never had this problem. Using img burn will not solve this problem because it won't let me insert disc to backup. The only way i can get things to work is first backup onto a file and then burn it later after. Can't do all in one step as before. I even reset my computer back to factory install. Thinking this might fix it. didn't work. Just weird that is doesnt ask me to insert media after it is done reading process. Any suggestion. Thanks for your reply

Is imgburn set up as the default burner? Also burning files to the HDD first and doing compression on the HDD is the best way to save wear and tear on the burner! Then you load up imgburn and burn the BMDV and the Certificate and you are done

No imgburn is not default. I will try imgburn as default. What is hdd? Probably a stupid question. How do you burn to hdd first and then how to compress from there? Sorry i'm not so technical when it comes to this. Thanks for the replys.

Yes that was a stupid question. I just thought about it and it came to my head. Hdd is hard disc drive. To do this you just put the target to a file on the hard disc right. And then backup & compress from there? I have done this before. This is the only way i can backup right now. It will not work tring to burn & compress straight to the burner. It first reads the disc and is process complete but when it should ask for the writable media it doesn't and it just freezes up from there. Weird

Always compress on the HDD, it will save wear and tear on the burner! If you need the steps I will post them

This is if you want to compress down to 25gb or movie only. Put in your original BD and set that as source make your HDD as the target start the process make sure you have it set to 50gb at the bottom. You now have the entire movie on the HDD, and you decide what you want to do e.g. Movie only, remove HD audio, or compress down. This is only for compressing you might select movie only in the starting and if its under 23gb then no need to compress and you can save that right to the HDD. If you need to do any compressing you do it on the HDD it's faster and your drive will last longer! Now that you have your file on the HDD you open ImgBurn and select write files and folders, select the icon for files navigate to what you saved and select the BMDV file it will ask if you want to include the certificate hit yes and you are ready to burn!

Just went back to older version 8.0.7.3 and now it works fine. But when going to the newer version this problem happens. Think something is wrong with update why its not asking for blank disc when done copying process.

I noticed that if you wait sometimes for a couple of minutes it will finally ask you to insert blank media with the new version. Not like the older version where it comes on right away. It varies though with the newer version if it will even ask you for blank media or not. I think there is something that needs to be fixed with update. Need new beta version to fix this problem. I did send fab support info.

If you are copying to the HDD it will not ask for media! If you make the target your burner when its done copying it will ask for blank media and start up the burning engine.

Yes i understand now how to put movie on hdd and then do the compression using the hdd instead of the blue ray drive. I was just tring to figure out what was the problem since i never had this problem before. I did figure out if i just wait 2 to 3 minutes it will ask me for blank media. Weird because before it was instant. I will for now on use the hdd instead of the other way since you have told me about this process. Thank you DiabloZoe you are very helpful and that is what makes this forum so useful.
