First apologies if this has already been answered but has the file size problem been resolved. The file size i have is 14.1 gb when transcoding it says
it should be 23.5gb.Cheers

I've read they are working on it, but it's not resolved. We are waiting patiently.

But did you actually watch it? It looks great. Mine came out the same way but all we know the initial 23.5GB reading could be fluff relating to Cinavia. The burned copy looks just like the original movie disc.

When the movie first came out I backed it up and it was 13.9 and the movie looked perfect. Another poster just said his backup came out at the 23GB so maybe the new version corrected it?

Not that I don't believe in the wonderful DVDFab team but I'm seriously wondering how this is possible! I mean... I see it with my own eyes... I even compared it with the original disc and it really does look flawless. Now I'm dumbfounded. What the frak is going on? Shouldn't we at least see artifacts?

I even compared it with the original disc and it really does look flawless. Now I'm dumbfounded. What the frak is going on? Shouldn't we at least see artifacts?

I think Fox was using a some sort of protection scheme where you made and ISO and the written data would be like 47GB but if you opened it up in explorer it would register the right GB amount. This could have something to do the the protection scheme of this movie? Fengtao probably could explain the issue, but since its fixed I guess it a moot issue!

Fox? The Social Network is a Sony movie. No BD+, no 3D disc virtual files.

I was not saying the movie is a fox release. Just that fox used some type of protection scheme. I was pointing out the fact that they were able to make it seem that the file was not the size it actually was! And not that has any bearing on what was going on with the Social Network but a thought. Fengtao has fixed the issue so it's not a matter anymore.

I think you're referring either to virtual files found on 3D discs (in that case, simply there are two files that point to same sector on disc, therefore the total count in Windows Explorer appears to exceed 50GB sometimes) or to structural protection on Twilight Eclipse, but that's Sony as well

If I go back to the original disc (X-Files 1), and look in Explorer the disc shows as 46.6GB, if I right click and chose 'Properties' it's 46.6GB, if I then browse the disc and Highlight all the files and folders on the disc and get the properties it comes out at 38.9GB. When you make an ISO from the original disc it keeps the size information that the disc has (in this case 46.6GB) you have to copy everything to a folder and remake it as a new ISO to get rid of the fake size information and get the real size. I'm not sure if this will work if you want to keep the copy protection intact.

This is from another forum and just has to do with a iso. I don't think this was the issue with The Social Network. I don't know why my back up is 13.9 gb and it's supposed to be 22.3? The 13.9 plays just like the original. Some people have an issue with it, I don't care so long as it plays!
