    Scanning function...

Is it possible to fully turn off the Scanning of the disk? Or is it recommended to let DF do this? I have been canceling this operation since it seems to take a while for it to complete. Any recommendations?

It is best to let Fab do this! I have started copying movies with out letting it analyze and the bit rate in which it copies is real low, and with the same movie I let it do its thing and the was copying at 14 to 15 mbs a sec.
    For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
    or Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log
    or for XP C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

Click the little arrow below the preview window to close it while scanning. I find this to help the scan move a little quicker. Some movies are really intense GB wise and will take a little longer.
