trying to clone tron legacy blu-ray 3-D imgburn says my 50 gb disc doesnt have enough space???? do i need to use vso software instead and change the size in write options???

Can you double check the alert to see whether it is C drive has no enough free space or your 50G blank?

If it is C drive: Change the Temp directory to other drives where has more free space;

If it is blank: you may change another quality brand to have a try.

Also, you can target this moive on your computer first to check the real output size.

it's not the drive its the blank media.. real size is 46.5 when trying to clone its giving me the error message there doesnt seem to be enough space should i write anyway.. it is a blank 50gb rewriteable maxell bd-re dl rewriteable disc..

has anyone been able to clone this yet???? iv'e triedwith imgburn and vso software even nero... all 3 are saying the iso is too big for my 50GB blu-ray Dl rewriteable disc.. it's a maxell BD-RE DL rewriteable.. what's weird is the iso burned to the hard drive is only 46.5 GB.. so why wont it fit???

I brought this up in another post! When you make an ISO it get the disc information from the ISO in this case its reporting bigger than ad DL disc its not. Use the full disc option or clone mode but don't make an ISO!

I was able to make an image 'clone' and burn tron 3d w/o any issues at all. Used img burn to make disc.

i was finaaly able too as well... i used sony 50gb bd-dl... the media i tried first ws a maxell rewriteable bd-dl rewriteable.. come to find out it wouldn't do over 45.1 gb file.. idk if all 50 gb rewriteable media is like that but the sony 50gb non-rewriteable worked fine on clone mode.. piece of crap maxell 20 bucks for one disc... got 3 sony's on ebay for 20.00 ill stick to them from now on..

You have 3 of these discs can you post a screen shot from win of this disc in explorer I would like to see the size of the disc. As far as I know BDR and BDRE single layer are 23.3GB and DL are 45.1Gb all discs are the same! Now it depends on how you format the BDRE and what program! With or without spare areas.

Your problem is a common one that I also had and has been explained elsewhere on the forum somewhere.

You're using Rewritable disks and the standard size format is smaller for a rewritable disk than a write once disk. This only applies to Blu-ray disks, not DVD or CD.

Rewritable disks are formatted with a safe area so they show up smaller. Use ImgBurn to format the disks and under the tools-->settings menu select the write tab. On the right where it says 'prefer format size' change it to Maximum. Also check all three 'prefer' boxes above it. Now when you format your BD-RE and BD-RE DL disks they will end up with the same number of sectors as a BD-R disk and the same size. DL disks will now be 50 gig instead of 45 gig.

That's why DvdFab has different setting in the writable media size for blu-ray.

It takes forever for ImgBurn to format, which is why I only do that when I need one that size (cloneing 3d blu-ray). If you erase the disk with most quick format programs, it will default back to the smaller size with the safe area.

It's a pain, but I always verify first on a rewritable before a write once. They are too expensive to waste.

Standard disc size

12 cm

25 GB / 23866 MiB / 25025314816 B

50 GB / 47732 MiB / 50050629632 B

If you put a regular BDR in explorer reports the size a 23.3GB thats all your gonna get on a BDR and a BDRDL is 46.6 thats all you will fit on a disc. As the poster said you have to format the disc properly for your application! The 52505 comes out to 51.2GB not sure why this setting is there. Remember the settings in Fab are in MB not GB
