    well, i started copying ''let me in '' to my hdd at 1;45 pm. it is now 12;25 am and its at 70% (0.02mb/s). im guessing this disc is fubar'd somehow. will play perfectly but fab cant copy it.

    eh......

    [update]

    tried to copy ''henry'' and its yet another disc that fab cant seem to get past the opening stage. is it hit or miss with fab ? i looked through the log info and its very technical. would it help if i copy/paste the log here in its entirety or just a specific section ?

    [henry update]

    now using my bd reader/writer combo to copy to my hdd. started instantly. the reader that i used to copy hancock and the dark knight to perfection is the same reader that i tried henry, let me in, batman begins and terminator 2 to absolutely no avail. the henry copying process is starting at a paltry .85mb/s. 7 hrs to go just to copy. yea

    with the naked eye, i compared the condition of let me in with the other discs. there are no scratches, smudges, fingerprints or tic marks to be seen. i wipe down every disc (including blank ones). let me in may very well be defective but i dont think its due to dirt. im going to try and copy let me in to a folder but i doubt it will get past 69%.

    upgraded technology leads to upgraded frustrations.

    You really should disable auto run programs so that nothing is accessing the drive but the program that you want too.

    You may also try setting all options to software, to do this:
    Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, set Video Decoder to Software and set Video Encoder to Software restart Fab and try again.

    thank you for the suggestion. i went through the instructions and found the settings were set at ''software''.

    discs where i had no problems( out of 7);
    hancock
    dark knight

    slight problems;
    let the right one in; took an entire day. not kidding

    tbd's;
    batman begins and terminator 2 doesnt get past ''open blu ray source''. truth be told, i havent given these more than a few minutes to load before abandoning the process. the readers i use begins playing them immediately but fab cant seem to get over the initial stage.

    big problems;
    let me in. constantly gets stuck at 69 % copied.

    why wouldnt every disc behave the same ?

    Also make sure you are ripping as outlined in my friend Maineman's post

    Once this is done, you can modify/convert/burn as you wish.
    Doing otherwise, will result in unnecessary wear and tear on your burnner and excessive processing times.

    free. also, ive ran out of options and am forced to make my reader also do the writing (done it, minus probs, many times with reg dvds. when the copying is done, it ejects and tells me no writable disc is detected. this is when i put in blank disc). dont understand how im able to do what i need to do on 2 movies (hancock,the dark knight) but not be able to do the exact same thing for other movies (let me in, henry...serial killer).

    well, another revelation has been brought to my attention. it appears i didnt buy the bd option. coulda sworn i had but, eh.

    ok, bought the lifetime plan.
    my writer is working since i was able to copy hancok and the dark knight.
    no reason for there to be further ignorance on my part.
    start fab up and let her go.
    unfortunately....
    back to where i started. copying taking forever.

    wiped the disc
    checked the settings
    checked the externals

    yet the same probs persist. taking 11 hrs for a copy to be made. im at .89 mb/s after 1/2 hr in the copying process.

    can i be this stupid where not matter what im doing something wrong ?

    We're glad to help and it sounds like you're making progress...we'll get there!.

    So the rips are ok...right? (aside from the Fab logo anyway)
    Please take a couple minutes, activate Blu-ray Copy and check the application status to be certain it is indeed, properly activated.

    I see you're using Img...more good news...
    Please post your burn logs as suggested by my pal CBR929 in post #2:

    I'm not sure if this is relevant...sorry, I may have missed it.

    It will not be imbedded once the module is properly activated with your license.
    However, activating the product will not erase the Fab logo on the previously ripped files; these will have to be re-ripped.

    If this is still occurring, you have a product activation problem.
    As to specific "problem" BDs, I don't have either of these BD discs, but we'll need details re: specific failures.
    The logs for a start.

    Often, just cleaning the disc will resolve the excessive time issue.
    Please do this regardless of the disc's appearance
    tyvm. i assumed once i purchased the latest all inclusive dvdfab, it would automatically be non-trial. with the excessive time thing, they play well as theyre being copied. no glitches or pauses. i have wiped them down though. strange how fingerprints are attracted to these things.

    im trying a diff bd writer and see how this goes.

    i went with the lg. i have an lg do-it-all (except blu ray) burner and its been flawless.

    any way, ive been semi successful with burning. some movies i have issues with for some reason. ''let me in'' stops at 69% and says it needs 14 more hrs. also ''let the right one in'' has a dvdfab watermark on the top left. comes and goes (annoying). im sure ill come across other movies with snags. any remedies to these flicks ?

    Like I said. The LG model I had had some difficulties. But that was my experience. I'm sure LG makes some great burners. I just heard nothing but great things about pioneer. I just decided to go that route.
