Cannot backup disney titles (Up, Monsters Inc. and G-force).

Cannot backup Up, Monsters Inc., G-force and The Incredibles. When played back on sonny standalone, with latest firmware, it skips and freezes at certain points in the movies. Any other movies I can back up fine no problems. I trying to backup main movie on bd-r 25gb. I am using imgburn and even tried burning at 2x speed. No compression needed.

Yes they do play fine on my computer too. Does Disney encodes extra copy protection on their discs?

Probably your PC drive has a better error correction and that's why your player has problems.

I hope that Sony standalone is not a PS3 as those drives there are very crappy regarding error correction.

I have a sonny ES series blu-ray player (bd-s5000es), it's the top of the line that sonny makes. I did try to play Up on pc using power dvd and it plays fine, I have latest firmware on sonny standalone, why is it skipping and freezing on sonny standalone?

Other than burning too fast or crappy blank media, I am afraid you will need to ask Sony.

Apparently, Fab cannot back up Disney Pixar movies because I have no problems playing back ups for other movie studios.

Hey Joe, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Whenever I back up disney pixer titles and try to play them on all of my bluray standalones (3), they freeze and skip at certain points of the movies. Other movies by other studios plays fine on all my standealones. Why does disney pixels titles do that and other movies from universal, warner bros, etc doesn't do that?

Try using older version 8.0.7.3 I had this problem with some movies too. Ever since the newer version have came out i have had problems with freezing and skipping on certain movies but the older version seems to work just fine without this problem.

Same here. I went back to 8.0.7.3 but The Incredibles still freezes towards the end.

So I wander if there is extra copy protection that disney encodes that Fab can't decrypt on the title The Incredibles? Disney (Pixar) is well known to encode hidden sectors that Fab may not able to decrypt.
