opening disc help

[HIGH VOLTAGE]

I am having trouble opening up a few discs. Mission impossible 1 and Alvin and the chipmunks 1 are 2 off the top of my head. DVDFab starts to open the discs and the progress bar pops up on the screen but it just keeps scanning for ages and i have to stop it in the end. I am using a SONY BDX-S500U external drive and there are no updates for it as yet. Does anyone know what is wrong please. Thanks.

Are you trying to copy a backup or are you using the original disc's???
Logs say that there is no copyright on these disc's.

Hello. I am using the original discs and i have tried 3 different ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 1. All the disc's that i have used have been unmarked and some of them have been brand new. I just can't work it out as i have had no trouble at all with hundreds of others.
