Well i was able to back this movie up on a bdre philips disc which played on both players. Have tried over 6 or 7 bdr with no luck on my sony player. I even tried to backup the movie tring to use the vso burn engine and the movie doesn't play right on either of my players. So it did work with img/burn on 1 of my players when backing up on a bdr. I don't understand why this is happening now all of a sudden. I have backup new movies recently with the philips bdr and they play just fine on both players. It just seems to have this problem with this movie. Do you think i need to update my sony player? Haven't heard anybody else having this problem with this movie that i am aware of. Do you think there needs to be a burn engine update to fix this problem? Like i said earlier the vso engine doesn't work on both of my players but img/burn does work on my lg model? I'm not going to waste anymore bdr on this movie. Will back up some more new movies later and see if i am having the same problem with this media. I really don't believe it's this even though all signs point to it. I'm going to purchase some verbatim bdr and see if they work. Have to wait a couple of days till i get them to check to see if they work. Funny how the philip bdre works just fine on both players. Do you think a driver update would help this problem or not?

@0brian
something tells me that not your players or media, or burn engine in fault here, but your burner. If burns on one media were taken with joy by your players, and burns on other media were rejected, leads me to believe that less fortunate media poorly supported by your burner. Try to update driver.sigpic

So you backed up this movie to a BDRE and problem solved? I had issues with my BH08 LG burner I would sometimes have to burn and re burn a movie to get it to play on my samsung player, purchased a new BH10 and have not had a problem since! The lasers do get worn out it's a combination of things that you have to rule out! Even if you purchase a new burner at your local BB to try and see if that's the issue if not you can just return it!For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

Wasting Disc here

I played this disc over my parents house they too have the same sony blue ray player and yes it too freezed up and skipped after playing about 5 or 6 min. into the movie. Is anyone else having this problem? I don't think its the media because i have backup other movies using the same media with no problems. Could this be a problem with this new protection on some players and not others?
I am just going to wait to the Sony S360 come out with firmware #12 and see if that fixes the movie.

Yes it did work when backing up to bdre. But what i can't understand is that i have back up other movies recently and they play just fine on my sony. Wouldn't it do the same thing to all movies if it was a burner problem? That's something that jjd99d is having same problem as me with the same sony player as is my parents. Could this be a firmware issue? Wouldn't the firmware issue be the same problem for all of my movies that i have recently backed up? Maybe its something to do with the structure with this movie when it is burned on 2x that is not able to read on my sony but will on my lg? I have an lg burner. Just updated my drivers. I'm going to wait for a fab update before i try to burn source code again. Maybe there is something to this new protection that is affecting the burn? I'm not sure. Just tring to figure it out.

jjd99d what brand blank media did you use? I'm starting to think it might be a media issue. I just watch ironclad and it played fine at first on my sony and about an 1.45 min. it started to freeze and pixelate. It played just fine in my LG again. Since source code did play fine using a philips bdre. My other media optical quantum bdr which is a philips disc when i i.d. it on image burn did not play on both players. Is it possible that the media has changed it firmware and now it doesn't play in my sony? I have been using this media for awhile now without any problems. Just recently. Would a firmware update for my sony player correct this problem? If i would update the firmware for the sony is there a way to find out if the new firmware contains cinivia? I'm tring to avoid that problem. I just order some verbatium bdr disc and want to see if they play without this problem. I have to wait though about a week till i get them. I figure this should answer my media issue.

Just figured it out. It was the media. Had to spools of 10 that were no good. Must have been manufactored differently than the others. After carefully looking at the back of the disc i could tell a color change. The ones that worked fine were more of a golder color. The bad ones were more of a blackish silverish color. Weird because all of them are the same brand. Have used these for awhile now without a problem but this a first. Thanks for all of the help here on the forum.
