Protected disc

I get a successful burn and disc but the ps3 refuses to play any protected discs. so far i have tried salt and battle:LA. i dont know if i need to do something with my ps3 as the disc is successfull in dvdfab.

i get the error code 800299A1 with both movies.

just FYI, I did it from disc to disc not backed up to hard drive.

Please download, install and try newest beta 8.1.0.7QT Beta. I think this issue were fixed in that built. Unlikely it's media.

You cannot backup to the HDD when making a protected disc. If you are still having issues I will try and make a protected backup of Battle LA and see if I can reproduce the error.

The reason I said that is because you can only go disc to disc your OP did not need to reflect this. Yes burn speed can be an issue which engine are you using which type of media? And are you unchecking make a mini ISO?

I am pleased to say that I have successfully made a backup of Battle: Los Angeles (that does not skip on my PS3) tonight. Used an ASUS SWB-06C1S-U external burner, VSO as the burning engine, all the decoders set to software, and most importantly used the new 8.1.0.7QT Beta. I went from original disk, selected main movie, let it rip, then put in a blank disk when prompted. I even used a cheap Vinpower Digital BD-R (mostly because I was making a ton of coasters to mess with the settings and try to get a disk that wouldn't skip). Thanks a ton software writers! I will try to make a backup of The Other Guys ASAP. That movie was the worst offender out of my collection for skipping scenes. I just wish that one day they could come out with a protected rip so I can backup my whole library on a HDD and have it play nice with my PS3.
