    Please help me with Blu-ray Copy

    Sorry, I'm not trying to hijack a thread... I just don't know how to post my own. I was told dvdfab is the best software for backing up blu rays by a friend of mine. I downloaded the beta and I concur that it is... I ran it for 3 days on win xp with no problem, but when I installed win 7 pro 32b problems began...

    I thought it was win 7, so I did a clean install... twice!! I have installed the latest drivers for my drive Samsung SH B123L B04, clean installed the beta, and still no luck. It has been 10+ hours and I have only copied 0.35%... unnerving. My computer is a Intel Pentium D 3.0, with 3gb ram, an EVGA GT 430 graphics card, and 1tb 7200rpm seagate barracuda hard drive. I know it can move faster, please help!! Thank you for your time... and if this gets moved, can you please let me know how to find it? Thank you again.

    Please help me with Blu-ray Copy

    I have been using the dvdfab beta for 3 days now and love it, the problem started when I installed Win 7 pro 32b... it was previously Win XP. Before the new OS I would copy a blu ray in under an hour easy... now I'm on hour 10+ and only at 0.35%. I formatted and re-installed Win 7 twice thinking it was the OS, installing dvdfab each time. Then I put in a new hard drive all together and did everything all over from scratch... to no avail. I made sure Win defender and the firewall were turned off... they are actually still off 10+ hours later. I have done 5 total clean uninstalls/installs, made sure firewalls and virus protection is off, made sure my drive (Samsung SH B123L B04) has the latest drivers, and still this problem.

    My computer is an Intel Pentium D 3.00, with 3gb ddr2 ram, a 1tb 7200rpm hard drive, and an EVGA GT 430 graphics card. Please help! Thank you for your time.

        OK, I see you found it
        Now first step. Please go to Common Settings (Little green dot in right upper corner of DVDFab window) -> General -click "Reset DMA" button (make sure box "Check for DMA automatically" also checked), and try to copy again.
        If it doesn't work for you, please find logs and post them here, all of them.
        Logs should be here:
        For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

            Are you running a beta version of win7? Also in common settings change all codecs to software. Also I would not expect to quick of a time as your system is pretty outdated. Fab is the best software out there by far but with any video software its power hungry. You are going to want to copy your movie to the HDD as a 50GB file uncompressed then if you choose to do any compression you should do it on the HDD as this is quicker and will save wear and tear on your burner if you search the forums there is plenty of info on how to do this. Also ImgBurn is the preferred burn engine its a free D/L and there are instructions on setting up here to.

              I don't really know if I am running the beta of Win 7... the same friend who told me about dvdfab also told me I would love Win 7 and gave me a disc with it on it, he told me if I like them both that after 30 days I could buy them, so far I love dvdfab and not a big fan of Win 7. I plan on using dvdfab to make digital back ups of my discs... partly because I'm lazy, and partly because it saves wear and tear on my discs... but mainly the lazy thing.

              Win 7 is glossier with a better load time, but all this work I've put into it so far and I still can't get one program (dvdfab) to work. I am planing on building a core i7 rig soon because I finally got rid of my Dell clunker that served as my main pc and I would like to put Win 7 on it, but I was hoping I could get this running in the mean time to make sure there were no handshake issues. I would liek to get it going like how it was running in Win XP on the same HTPC, which was a million times faster. Do you think it's Win 7 beta I'm using? If so, could that be the problem? I would love to know if everything works together before I buy it all... well, at least Win 7, I'm pretty much sold on dvdfab. Thank you for your time.

                Just type "winver" in Start -> Run and then you will see if you are using a Beta.

                      I realize that going from one OS to another that there is probably a problem with compatibility, but should it be this much of a problem? I'm wondering what Win 7 programming architecture would change the compatibility this drastically. Is it the combination of my old hardware and Win 7 that could be causing the issue? I could see that I guess... to amp up functionality Win 7 might use the hardware in a way that's more laboring to the system and in turn makes the program work slower... I guess I should just wait 'till I build my i7 rig and try all of this again.

                      Oh, I also tried everything that was suggested, but it didn't work. I would like to thank everyone for their input and time, but I think the combination of my HTPC, Win 7, and dvdfab are not going to get along in this instance. I am always open to suggestions, though I'm sure that whatever is going on with this combination is irreparable. Everything works together in XP with no problems, and maybe that's all my HTPC can handle. Thank you for your time.
