    Problem with Main Movie Copy...

I seem to be having a problem getting DVDFab to complete
a movie-only copy of a Blu-ray when compression is used.

I have attempted 3 different movies, and in every instance,
DVDFab gets about 1/3 the way through, and just stops...
No CPU activity, no progress bar movement, nothing, yet
DVDFab isn't frozen. I can click on cancel, finish, etc, and
    close DVDFab.

I have tried this with movies that don't require compression,
and DVDFab finishes the movie-only copy with no problem.

As a matter of reference, I always copy the full disc to the
Hard Drive first, then do a movie-only copy from the HD.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Please post DVDFab internal log, thanks.
DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.

              Takes Forever

Just upgraded to 8.1.1.2 and now it takes forever (read: infinite amount of time) to decode/compress a Blu-Ray. I did "LIFE Disk2" on the previous version of DVDFab without any issue. I am trying "LIFE Disk1" now and it won't go. Attached is the log file (been running for about 20 hrs now). Normally, it takes about 1 hr on my computer at 75% compression. I just gave up and aborted as it's not going anywhere. I watched the original movie and it plays fine.

                Hi Wayne_P
Please do not compress from your drive
First save it to your HDD as BD50 "Movie Only" without compression.
Then open the hard drive folder and use the ripped folder, select BD25 to compress to another folder on your hard drive.
Use the "Write Data" mode of Fab to open this COMPRESSED folder and burn to a disk.
Doing it this way saves wear and tear on your optical drive and is also faster.

Also Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, put a check in Disable all GPU codes and make sure they are set to Software, restart Fab and try again.
                Hope this helps

                  Problem with Main Movie Copy...

Just wondering if the folks at DVDFab are aware of this problem
and are looking into fixing it.... I have a lot of movies that I have
to back-up, and I can't do any if they require compression....

I started a thread on this two weeks ago and it is my understanding that Fengtao is aware of it. in the meanwhile use the new version to load it on your hard drive and then use one of the older versions to compress it. Hope this helps i have been using 8.0.8.5 to compress mine. they will fix it soon.

I would recommend all to use version 8.0.7.3 because all of the qt versions have bugs in them. Ever since they tried to make this software friendly to Mac users this has been a problem. Freezing,Skipping, longer backup times. I think that fab should have had a seperate version just for Mac users and windows should have its own version.

                          Still having trouble with v8.0.7.3

Now this is getting frustrating... I just re-did my system from scratch...
Wiped the SSD, and re-installed everything from scratch...
                          My system as follows:

                          Windows 7 Professional 64bit
MBoard: ASUS Ramapge II GENE (x58 chipset)
                          CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz
                          Memory: Kingston DDR3 1333 MHz - 6 GB
                          HD0: Intel X25-M SSD 80 GB
                          HD1: Western Digital WD6401AALS-00L3B2 640GB
                          HD2: Seagate ST3500320NS 500GB
                          HD3: Seagate ST31000340NS 1TB
ODD0: BENQ DVD LS DW1655 BCIB (S (ATA)
                          ODD1: ATAPI iHBS112 2 CL0J (T (ATAPI)
                          ODD2: HL-DT-ST BD-RE UH10LS20 1.00 (U (ATAPI)
                          ATI Radeon HD 4890 XOC
                          ATI Catalyst 11.8 (64 bit)

                          DVDFab reports:
                          Graphics Chipset :
                          ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

                          CoreAVC : is detected.

After re-installing both v8.1.1.2Qt and v8.0.7.3, I am still running into the problem of DVDFab just stopping about 1/4 to 1/3 way into a compression to a main-movie backup of a Blu-ray, even using v8.0.7.3. Here are 2 screenshots:

I will also post the log from an attempted backup.

I'm wondering what is going on with this very expensive piece of software?

It looks like you backed it to the HDD using .12 then tried to compress using .73? Please switch all codecs to software and disable lightning encoding, make sure you don't have a bunch of stuff in the background running! There is no problem with main movie copy, that's all I do and have backed up Black Swan with no problems!

Thanks for the advice, and yes, I backed it to the HDD using 8112 and tried to compress with 8073.

but if you check the log, you will see that all encoders have been switched to software, and Lightning-Recoding is off. There is nothing else running in the background, other than the minimal Windows 7 system processess, etc.

I still can't figure out the problem....
