I am new to Blu ray . I bought a Blu Ray Reader, read what I thought was enough to copy a Blu Ray disk I own to a dvd disc. I downloaded DvdFabhd,(used the Blu ray to Blu ray option, finally got it on the harddrive, went to burn using a dvd5 disc, (used Movie only), was rejected, stating I needed a dual blu ray disc. I'm obviously doing something wrong, when I opened the downloaded file I was completly lost with the options I was given, as oppossed to a Dvd file that just has the audio/video option. I would greatly appeciate any help. T.I.A.

My mistake, I'm getting myself confused, as a matter of fact, I just now finished a download it was D9 and was set to D9, after about 15Hrs it finally finished, the disc had 8.9 G and so it was too big for my D9 ,I had it set for 1080, is there a way to get it down to the D9 size?, I'm sure there can be some bytes eliminated, just am not sure how, I understand some of the sound can be done away with for instance. Is 15Hrs normal for a rip?

english is your native language) and same for subtitles but if you don't need subs then deselect them all.
15hrs for rip/compression stage...it's really depending on your computer specs/graphics card. I have a Core 2 duo rated @ 3.16ghz out of the box but is overclocked to 3.80ghz with 8gb of ram installed and midgrade (at best) video card that Fab makes use of the Cuda/dxva gpu acceleration (helps the encoding process). My run times are usually 3-4 hours and have seen others report even faster times with better hardware/cpu/video cards
To be honest 15hrs seems to long imo, make sure no other programs is running in the background such as virus scans and so forth.

No problem but to be honest I've never seen a log like that. Sorry I meant what was the writable media size for DVD-9, it should be set at 8100mb as the default and if memory serves one of the last few betas had the option to 'overburn' and that size was increased. I think that might be what's keeping the file from compressing to DVD-9 but not completely sure.

Am not sure how to delete unneeded audio. I am trying another computer, seems faster. When I used the term "download", I meant ripping.

Originally posted by Wild and Blue View PostSorry forgot to mention, after the initial full disc rip to your hdd and in main movie mode using that full disc rip as the source, you should see all the audio and subtitle selections to the right in two seperate boxes. simply UN-check all that you don't want or need. Then after choices have been made you can click start for the main movie rip. For better quality I suggest only one audio track.
should I delete all the Mpe's but one? Btw I was using movie only is there a difference in the display to rid the audio as opposed to full movie?Last edited by durkinjt; 12-03-2009, 03:58 PM.
