    What am I missing?

I really hate to sound like a noob who asks ridiculous-sounding questions because he hasn't invested any time in learning an application but I am at my wit's end. So here goes..

I am trying to back up my retail copy of "The Lion King 3D". It's 35 GB and I only have 25GB bd-r's so using the clone feature isn't an option. As I understand it, I'm supposed to be able to convert the film to Blu-ray SBS 3D under the Full Disc option of this program. After numerous failed attempts to compress it to BD25, I came to the forum and read where another user suggested to first copy the disc without compression to the hard drive. Success. Or so I thought..

The resulting disc I burnt would not play in my blu-ray player because it apparently wasn't a 3D device. I tried the disc in my PS3 instead and it did play, but the movie did not play in SBS 3D; but rather 2D. Hoping I might have accidently selected the wrong option, I repeated the process but this time I decided to check the files ripped to my hard drive before trying to compress. Using VLC media player I was able to confirm that the m2ts files were in standard 2D and not SBS 3D. I have repeated the process a couple of times to no avail and can only conclude that the program does not work as advertised.

Is there some sort of workaround to achieve what I'm looking for? I have searched the forum forum for a few days while waiting to be activated and I haven't came across a solution as of yet. I did pm another user who posted a similar issue and "he" more or less told me it was a lost cause. I just can't imagine that more people haven't experienced this..

    Hi,

Please convert to SBS 3D to bd25 directly. It's the SBS 3D format when compressing to bd 25 directly with selecting "Convert to SBS 3D" option.
And I also reproduced the error. It's not SBS 3D format when outputing bd50 with selecting "convert to SBS 3D" option. I'll report the error to our dev to fix the error.
    Good finding!
    Thanks for your help!

      Hey,

Thank you for following up on this for me. Before my initial post I had attempted several times to compress to bd25 directly from disc to no avail. It crashed a few times and so I tried bd50 which completed; but as noted did not output to SBS 3D. After updating to 8.1.2.5 however, I was able to convert to bd25 directly and the output is indeed SBS 3D. Please update the thread when the error is fixed and once again thank you!
