    You're burning way too fast.
Curiously, although you requested a write speed of 4X, VSO has failed to comply and you're actually burning much faster
(total time 17:21 for 22.25 GB , Avg. burn rate 18.63)

Recommend that you switch burn engines to Img...
(click on the link and setup in my sig below).

If you're a glutton for punishment, you can try VSO again, but select 2X as your burn speed.
No offense, but your RITEK-BR2-00 media is crap (whatever brand it carries).

I'd switch back to what you had previously.
    What were you using successfully?

I never burn BD media (I watch 'em via media players/hdds) so I'm not much help here.

thanks maineman. i think i will have to take the loss on this one. tried to switch to imgburn, kept burning at 12x even though i requested 2x. switched back to vso and attermped lowered speed...still no burn. other bd's have burned successfully using same setup. this is way too complicated for me...i don't know what i'm doing

        Hi zentech
Please make sure that you followed the instructions to a tee, you can do it just take your time.
Did you also change the setting within Fab for your write speed to recommended?

          thanks cbr (and maineman).
i tried to burn a different br movie title - and it worked flawlessly! so...
i think there is something going on with this star wars br and not the dvdfab setup or disc media. this has been the only movie i've had problems with.

i may try one more time with a 'throwaway' burn disc a little later today. would changing back to 'recommended' speed setting throttle back the burn speed to 4x or less? trying to force 4x or 2x speeds via dvdfab settings seems to be ignored...it goes back to 12x once the burn starts

very frustrating, but i am learning by error like edison (a hundred different way things won't work)!

thanks for the support guys. eventually things will all come together. happy saturday!

            Hi zentech
If using ImgBurn as your burn engine (which most of us use) you need the change the setting as I suggested in Fab.
If you also followed the instructions in setting up ImgBurn you would have to set up the AWS in ImgBurn, to burn at the speed you request for the MID of the media you are using.
If using different media you would have to set up the AWS for all the media according to the MID "Media ID" of the disc and it will burn at your preset burn speeds when ever it detects the disc in the drive.
I use 3 different media and have them set to burn at 8x,4x, and 2.4x.
            Hope this helps

            EDIT:
Your drive also has a firmware update you will find it here http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1...00-03.exe.html
Note if you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless.

you guys are like surgeons... thanks

i am intrigued by maineman's idea about networking blu-rays directly from the hdd/media player (must need some pretty sizable hdd's for that...each bd burned file is 22.or so gb for 25/1080p)...but baby steps first...have to learn blu-ray burning basics first!

i am going to try the br update as well - the lg has frustrated me lately anyway, player software changing my settings to windows basic and such when i put in a br (cyberlink power dvd 7), may be time for a new player anyway!

i know you guys have thrown in some mid-level stuff to a noob, and that's appreciated, and i have to go back and read some threads to get those basics down pat so...RTFM(or threads in this instance) for me...off i go. gotta break a few eggs before becoming a good (or at least middling) cook!
