Please do not compress on the initial rip whether Full Disc or Main Movie.
Always use BD50 output on your initial rip.
Only compress/convert/modify from your hdd files

i'll try that, but i always do it like this. works 90% of the time. i already wasted 8 hours on 2 fails.

I guess 90% isn't bad, but compressing from a BD disc on the initial rip is one of the most frequent causes of problems we see here.
Certainly adherence to best practice dictates a clean, uncompressed rip.

Who knows's what's at play here, but best to knock off the "usual suspects".
If problems persist, troubleshooting becomes a bit "cleaner", if not easier.

tried it that way. same result. freezes at 99.96% every time.
tired with 8129 as well. with every build of dvdfab comes another issue.

Have you tried playback from the hdd?
It may be that the rip completed successfully and for some strange reason you're receiving this error. I think I've seen this posted previously.
Hard to believe there's anything worth copying on the final 0.04% anyway.

If you haven't done so, try cleaning the disc.
Do this regardless of its appearance.

if you are still so inclined to get the last 0.04%...lol

Yup, sure seems like it.
Luckily, for me it's only been an infrequent, minor GUI glitch.

it never creates the .ISO. it freezes at 99.96%. there is nothing to play from the hdd. the clone worked fine, but i use 25gb discs. i copied "how to make it in america", and "bored to death" with no problems (all HBO series discs), i'm not sure which version build, but this freezes everytime. i'm done wasting time.

it can't be the software could it? noooooo....
it has to be user error, even though i have completed over 100 succussful back-ups. why didn't i think of wiping the disc???????
Or maybe it's my quad core CPU, 8gb RAM, & GTX460 vid card.
yeah, that has to be it. not dvdfab.
