    Full Disc backup doesn't work

I've been backing up discs for a long time, but I've usually either just done movie only and compressed, or ripped full disc when compression wasn't necessary. I haven't had the need to compress a full disc until now...

Recently I purchased the 9-disc Star Wars bluray set, and I wanted to backup the entire special features discs. I went to DVDFab and selected full disc, and then BD25, and let it run. Then I burned successfully, and when I played in my player (Panasonic DMP-BD65), it would show 'Play' on the display for a couple of seconds, and then just stop. No image would ever be displayed. I do have the latest firmware (1.60) for my player, but I can't figure out what the problem might be.... please help!

I have the Panasonic BD-75 and had the same problem with the 50gb. Go to your manual and read about how to reset your player. I wrote Panasonic and this is what they told me. It worked with my Verbatim 50gb 6x non-LTH disks.

i am having the same problem on various disks: Star Wars Attack of the Clones, Jurassic Park 1 an 2, Captain America. I know what you are going through. No matter how I adjust my settings and what disks I use it doesn't do any good

          Had the same problem --

Place a check in the CODEC Disable GPU box

          and uncheck Lighting encoding

Full disc backup won't work for me either

I was hoping someone could help with the same problem I am having. I'm trying to backup my movies onto 25GB Aone discs and they play fine on my bluray player when just doing the main movie copy, but I want to copy the full disc but I just can't get it to work on my bluray player (Panasonic DMP-BDT110EB) but it does work on my PC.
I have tried using decoder & encoder set to software, disable Lightning-Recoding, and also tried disabling all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding.

On the bluray player it is not recognising the disc, but what I did notice when playing the copy I made of Tropic Thunder, it played the menu bit at the start where you can choose the language for the disc but after that it stopped reading the disc. I have attached the logs of all the movies I've made backups of so far. Hope someone can help.

                Thanks for reading.

                  Hi cwse07004,
See from the log you attached, your fab version is 8153. Please update your fab to the latest 8163 QT and try it again.

                      Hi cwse07004
You are using other software to rip which may be your problem, I suggest using Fab alone.

Open Fab click the Click the Green √ at top right corner of the DVD Fab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, uncheck Lightning-Recoding, restart Fab and try again.

I see you seem to have lighting-REcoding enabled --- is that true ?

I am not successful unless I disable that -- and also disable all Hardware GPU encoding ( not just set them to software -- but CHECK the disable box )

These two things are what seem to cause BD discs to not perform successfully

Seems to be failing when taking off the lightning encoding.

                          Attached the logs again

What I don't understand is that when I do movie only copy with lightning ticked, it works fine on both my pc and my bluray player surely it can nothing to do with this. And how come the full disc backup does work on my pc just not my bluray player?

Unfortunately, nothing in your posts that shows anything re: the actual burn process so it's all just guesswork on our part.

Frankly, I'd try to burn a disc with Img. It is a much more reliable and configurable burn engine.

If this remains a problem for you, please post the Img burn log
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
