blu-ray VC-1 rip says its going to take 8 hours

I just got my first pack of BR blanks and wanted to crunch a 31 gig file into bd25.
its saying 8 hours (1-2mbs). although the time is cutting down somewhat other br rips i've tried never estimate over an hour. Only difference i can see is this disk (true romance) has VC-1 listed as file types when usually its x264 or something.

i disabled GPU since i know vc-1 isn't supported by IQS yet still the same problem.

    any ideas?

Mine always take super long to crunch down to 25.
    (Duo Core PC w/4GB ram)

I just let it go overnight.

VC1 has always been very slow for me with or without GPU. The VC1 implementation in Fab just seems to be poor.
