Options>DVD/BluRay>BluRay>Enable BluRay3D Only Disc To Play On 2D Display

Can someone explain what this setting is supposed to do exactly?
I can 'assume' what it does, by the name of the option... but does it work?
Can it mess up a full disc copy or clone?
Is it reccommended to not to use this setting?

I would like to know more about this setting and what its full intentions are. (And if it works)

Well... I got curious.. and it made me a coaster.

I enabled this option when doing a clone of a 3D movie.

It caused the disc to be unreadable in my 3D player (and 2D player also)

Dont use it.
