ripped blu-ray dics are playing in french

hi all, this is strange, all of a sudden all my blu ray rips are playing in french -
i use cyberlink powerdvd 7 and 8, and vlc to play the mt2s file, both are in french, i can't seem to change the audio to english -- when i play it with dvdfab preview screen, it's in english, but very very choppy -- can some please help, i'm running dvdfab 6.2.0.5
