What does this option do? I leave it unchecked, as that is the default setting, but what exactly does it do? I watch most of my blu-rays on my PS3, so maybe it would apply to me?

Tere are some bds need new PS3 firmware to play the movie, UPDATE FILES just for old PS3 firmware, if your PS3 firmware is the latest, not need PS3 update files!
WilsonPlease post your logs the default location is:
For DVDFab 13: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab13\Log
For StreamFab: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal log and post right here.
If it's the burning issue, please also attach burn log.
