Blu-ray Copy - BD5 720p = subtitles missing on playback

Some of you have noticed that I've done some test encodes with Blu-ray Copy - BD5 720p feature and reported few bugs.

Now I've found a new bug.

Movie encode (with 8129 beta) it self is working with certain options disabled, but thats not the point here.

When playing finished movie in PC with Media Player Classic HC and Total Media Theatre 5 subtitles are shown just fine.
But when playing same movie with PowerDVD 11 subtitles aren't shown.

I've tested this also by burning disc and played it with stand alone BD player Panasonic BD-30.
Here is same issue as with PowerDVD 11 => subtitles aren't shown.

I assume that log files doesn't help because subtitles are encoded, but not shown with some players.
Maybe there is some bugs in subtitle converting feature from original 1080p resolution to 720p.

Anybody else noticed this?

Hi,

I observe a similar problem with my Panasonic BD65 blu-ray player.
The problem is not only for 720p encoding, but also appears for 1080 p/i setting in Blu-ray copy SW when copying to DVD (which gives btw much better quality on flatscreen TV)

Note that I can select subtitles in BD65 player, but they just do not appear on the TV screen.

Did you get your problem solved ?
