    "Open Blu-ray source" never opens

Trying to back up my newly purchased used copy of Die Hard, but after several attempts, never gets past the "Open Blu-ray source:" bar that perpetually scans.

I upgraded to 8.1.7.6 and still no improvement.

Here is the log that on both attempts simply stops at 55.41 seconds.

This looks identical to the problem I am seeing on two specific Blu-Rays.

Try going back to version 8.1.6.3 . That works for me.

I have been having the same problem since 8.1.6.8. 8.1.7.8 still does not fix the problem for me, and what's worse is now when I reinstall 8.1.6.3 it crashes when I open the app.

You need to uninstall 8.1.6.3 and then reinstall it. That will fix things and it retains your settings. At least it did for me. I was having the same crashing problem when going back to 8.1.6.3 and installing over top of 8.1.6.8 or similar. 8.1.7.8 fixed the two Blu-Rays I had been having issues with.

Cool...thanks! Got 8.1.6.3 working again. What is going on with these new releases, can you open ANY titles. Mine (no matter which title) just keeps trying to "open source"...forever! And if I hit "cancel" it just hangs, have to kill it with task manager

I am having no issues with 8.1.7.8 . The two I was having issues with are fixed now. You might trying to upgarde again to 8.1.7.8 . Maybe something else was messed up where the uninstall may have fixed it. I only had problems with just 2 Blu-Rays and they are fine now.

seems like it is every title. I am doing a "Full Disc" from Blu-Ray copy from BD drive to disk. Are you doing the same?

I typically use the Blu-Ray rip function and not the copy. I use copy from time to time. From what I can tell the opening of a disc is the same whether ripping or copying. It's what comes next that is different. You can tell because if you open a disc while in the copy function and then select the rip function (or vice versa) it doesn't reopen the disc.

I have since rebuilt my machine, new hardware, and upgraded Vista to Windows7 (64 Ultimate) and Fab now works fine. I never did solve my previous problem though. My feeling was that it might have been a firewall/antivirus thing going on but was never able to prove it.
