    Slow burn rate

I'm running DVDFab 8.1.7.8, and just tried to burn a BD-R DL disk. The burn finished, but it took over 8 hours and averaged at 0.69x write rate.

I have a Pioneer BDR-207D burner and was using Verbatim discs rated at 6x.
The write speed settings is set to Automatic.

According to the log, it shows the available write speeds as 1x,4x,8x and requested the 8x. But during the burn it never even got to 1x.

Is there some configuration that I'm missing?

After all that the disc will not play. It will seem to get recognized by the player and will start to play, but it will sit there at time 00:00 and never begin. It just shows a black screen.

The burn although slow, said it finished successfully.

      Hi ccrotty
Please install ImgBurn as your burn engine, it is "free" and you will find instructions in the link in my signature on setting it up with Fab.
Remember to set up the AWS in ImgBurn and the write speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your disc, in this case will be 4x.
      Hope this helps

            I don't like ImgBurn. Can I substitute ImgBurn w/ Nero 10?

              Hi happy hopping
Yes, you can use Nero if you want...

For those who did the above, does DVDFab exit and launch Nero 10? Or is DVDFab still running in the background controlling some part of Nero? Because I have this fear of that 0.1X writing speed which can't be right

Would it be even faster to burn the output to a hard drive folder. Then I can closed out of DVDFab, launch Nero 10, and burn from hard drive to Blu-Ray?

I'm pretty sure it will do like any of the selections on that list, it will run in the background with DVDFab. And remember, you don't "burn" the output to the hard drive, you "copy" it. As far as the speed, that depends on your computer's specs. Try it out and see what you prefer better. I personally copy all of my discs to the HDD first and then burn those files to disc separately within ImgBurn, which is far easier to use and better overall than Nero 10, in my opinion.
