Can't copy BR since upgrading to a Geforce 670

What I have done so far. Replace 670 with another different model, put my old 480 back in which works fine, put in a 550ti which works fine. Put my 670 in another computer which does not work but either of the other two cards do. Reformat and try again, still no dice. I did try and disable Cuda once and it ran for 18 hours then failed but I don't have that log nor would 18 hours to encode be a good solution. Here is the current log which is what I usually get from doing full disc or main movie. Never had an issue until now been running it for years. Same for any disc I've tried including ones I've already copied successfully.

Cuda

I have the same problem. The problem is the Cuda\Physx renderimg is not working on the new 600 series cards. I posted the same info and got no help.

The fix as suggested was to disable the GPU in DVDFab for rendering. This wont work for me as it is just way to slow even though I am using a 3930k.

I added a 9800GTX, dedicated it to PhysX and am using that now and the GPU is now doing the rendering again although it is still much slower than the 500 series card I replaced.

This rendering problem is also affecting video rendering programs such as sony Vegas.

It looks to me after much research that NVidia has changed the Cuda instruction set and that the program developers for DVDFab, Vegas etc are going to have to rewrite thier software to be able to use Cuda\PhysX. Or maye NVidia will release a new PhysX update that will fix this as well

Copy the movie to the HDD as a BD50 then compress on the HDD, then burn your disc! I'm not sure what speed you are looking for?

Cuda

GregiBoy, there may not be anything wrong with Nvidias 600 series cards. What i have read is it is newer implementation of Cuda. the problem could simply be that some of these software developers need to update their code in order for it to work. Maybe the software developers failed to keep up.

Could there possibly be some CUDA settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel that you could try to see if it makes a difference whilst encoding blu-rays? I know some of these cards come from the factory with preset options turned on like overclocking that might affect the encoding process.

Here's the info from nvidia's website:

NVENC
All Kepler GPUs also incorporate a new hardware-based H.264 video encoder, NVENC. Prior to the introduction of Kepler, video encoding on previous GeForce products was handled by encode software running on the GPU’s array of CUDA Cores. While the CUDA Cores were able to deliver tremendous performance speedups compared to CPU-based encoding, one downside of using these high-speed processor cores to process video encoding was increased power consumption.

By using specialized circuitry for H.264 encoding, the NVENC hardware encoder in Kepler is almost four times faster than our previous CUDA-based encoder while consuming much less power.

It is important to note that an application can choose to encode using both NVENC hardware and NVIDIA’s legacy CUDA encoder in parallel, without negatively affecting each other. However, some video pre-processing algorithms may require CUDA, and this will result in reduced performance from the CUDA encoder since the available CUDA Cores will be shared by the encoder and pre-processor.

NVENC provides the following:

• Can encode full HD resolution (1080p) videos up to 8x faster than real-time. For example, in high performance mode, encoding of a 16 minute long 1080p, 30 fps video will take approximately 2 minutes.

Strange... I'm running a GTX 690 and have experienced no problems converting/copying with this card. The only issue I have is only when I try and convert some titles using video converter, but that has always had issues when using CUDA on any of the nVidia cards...

What kind of card did you replace when you got your 680? Maybe there is a file that isn't being overwritten on the install.

And I have to ask, are you sure your using Cuda?

What version od DVDFab are you using?

Nvidia release a PhysX Update july 12 2012. i removed the old PhysX software and installed the new. GPU is now available on the 670
