Glad to hear that it's working well for you, Niner!!!

When I got mine, I was so impressed with a $15 product that makes my life so much easier with my players.

In the Oz vernacular, "It's a BALLTEARER"!!!

    Hi Rich86
I believe that your wrong, I am not misleading members.
Sony is Sony no matter how you put it, whether it be Sony Pictures or Sony USA

If you choose to buy Sony products made by Sony USA , but not buy Sony video products made by Sony Pictures thinking they are different you are dead wrong.

Why not ask the many PS3 members who had their consoles bricked after a firmware update from Sony USA in which Fab had a resolution to Cinavia so they could make a protected backup of their disc .

I agree with my friend GregiBoy

Sony is cause of Cinavia on discs, so my advice is to stay away from Sony.

Trying to find a Blu-Ray player that is not infected will be hard to find, as of February 1, 2012 Cinavia technology has become mandatory for all Blu-Ray players.

Here is a link about Cinavia

There are threads about media players here on the forum that are not affected by Cinavia, with a little search you will find more information on them, including this thread.
    Hope this helps

I think you are misleading folks.
If you want to punish Sony for cinavia, do not buy any Sony released software video products corrupted with cinavia. That means stay away from blu-ray titles with the little cinavia logo on the back cover. That is mostly the source of the issue - Sony Studios.
If you do not want blu-ray playback hardware that supports cinavia, then you cannot buy any blu-ray player model from any manufacturer that was licensed from February, 2012 on.
So - don't buy any new blu-ray player - and don't buy blu-ray or dvd releases with soundtracks corrupted with cinavia.
But if you need to buy a new blu-ray player regardless of cinavia, I would recommend you seriously consider Sony players along with other top quality brand name blu-ray players. My Sony blu-ray players have been absolutely superb & trouble free performers. If you want a cinavia free Sony player - look for a used or overstock mint condition S570 series or earlier. My primary player is a BDP-S1000ES that I paid $90 for from BestBuy on a closeout sale. It is a superb player!

    Blu-ray Sony bdp-s790

Hello guys I'm ready to buy my new Blu-ray player, I wanted to take the Sony. What about the Cinavia?
Will fit my backups that had the Cinavia? There is a list of movies that have the Cinavia? There's guides on the forum on how I could see them having a Sony?
    Thanks appearance tips!

    TB714,

    as
Superfist said go to PIOVS forum and up-date the version, you have the first version that it came out with!

Have you formatted your hdd? It better to formate it in with the Aios, also explained in the PIVOS forum!

    Aasoror, he's the man!

I think I am way over my head with this
The HDD icon should light up after about 10 seconds of it being on. However, I am using the R21 custom firmware. This setup process is really difficult to explain to someone new to the AIOS so I would suggest you go to the Pivos Forum as was suggested by Jonatan and speak with aasoror directly. But I'm assuming by now you're familiar with how it works as it was a while ago since you posted that question.

I apologize for the lapse in response. I just now saw this post this morning as I don't frequent here as much as I used to. Being that I ripped it out of a defective BUFFALO DriveStation Axis 3TB USB 3.0 enclosure (HD-LB3.0TU3) after about 1 good month of it operating properly, I would suspect it would be the bare drive listed at your link. Looking in Device Manager, it only shows a JMicron controller unlike the other 2TB drives I have the actually show the model number. But to be fair, I had to do backflips and cartwheel tricks to get this damn thing to be recognized as a complete 3TB drive. It was a major pain!

    Yeah, but it ain't simple.

I use Thumbgen and also YAMJ but your player needs to support it.
