Crap! It looks like the new 3.4.3.0 beta has the same audio driver (360747) as semiofficial firmware R18 & R21. I guess I'm going to have to hold out until they can fix the audio dropout problem in a future firmware.

Right now I'm flashing up to 3.0.1.7 R21 and trying that on for size. And just for the record, R18 & R20 both have audio driver 360747, but R19 has 394801. If R21 doesn't fix the audio dropouts, all I'm left to really try out is the 3.4.3.0 beta. Keep your fingers crossed for me. This is my last kink to work out. All of the other wonderful features on the AIOS I have no need for. I just want my blu-rays to play flawlessly.
EDIT: I just found out R21 has the same driver as R19 (394801). I have no choice but to check out the latest beta.Last edited by SuperFist; 09-09-2012, 10:40 PM.

Theres an semioffical R21 3.0.1.7 release also! I asked aasoror about it and he said they have reverted back and forth on the Audio drivers!
The R21 plays the DTS-HD MA just fine! I've also found just re-doing the same firmware from USB will also work! Had to do it a couple of times!
@MAINEMAN, you should be paid for product indorsment!
I'll certainly try R21 on for size and see how it fairs. Like I said, even with the audio dropouts, this player is definitely still worth it! Regardless, no more disc burning for me!
However, in the R21 release notes it says they "reverted" the Audio drivers. Doesn't this mean they reverted to R20 or R19 which I already tried? Just wondering...Last edited by SuperFist; 09-09-2012, 09:19 PM.

Like I've said, it's not perfect, but media players are definitely the way to go.
I read about some sound issues with the new "firmware".
Any chance that's what you're experiencing?
Were any of these sound issues evident prior to flashing your AIOS?
I haven't noted any problems myself...still running with the original firmware...no issues at all besides the crappy remote.
I just sent Amazon an email to see if I can purchase the "new and improved" remote.
Seems like PIVOS has been out of stock forever so no dice there.Last edited by SuperFist; 09-09-2012, 03:19 PM.

Thanks, maineman
I'm enjoying the AIOS HD Media Center with aasoror's Semiofficial Firmware 3.0.1.7 R19 and it's awesome. I did get the old remote but after contacting Pivos Group, they asked me to send them proof of purchase from Amazon for the newer remote and I did that yesterday. We'll see what they say as I think it may be free the way the email sounded.
I was having some occasional DTS-HD MA audio drop outs from folders and M2TS files for a while but I changed my HDMI cable and it seems to be somewhat stable. However, every now and then after clicking on some M2TS files, the audio doesn't kick in right away and after pausing or stopping and playing again, it's fine. However, with all of that said, there's no way even with problems that this player isn't worth it's weight it gold! It plays much better than my PC setup did with MPC-HC and it sure in the hell beats playing Cinavia with the PS3 and having the audio cut out completely after 20 minutes!
Thanks for the recommendation... you're my maineman! You, too, GregiBoy!
Originally posted by maineman View PostFor $89 US, I doubt you'll be sorry...even if you get the older, crappy remote..., but hopefully you'll get the "updated" one.
I bought my AIOS a year ago and I have not experienced any files that are not supported and I still have the original firmware (US_2151 from 8/11).
I've played mkv (standard dvd and BD) and .ISO's (both BD and standard) from the get-go.
Maybe what you saw was a really old post?
Re: MTS-HD MA...this is getting out of my league.
The AIOS does support MTS-HD/7.1 ch via HDMI connection.
I did some perusing on the net in order to differentiate between MTS-HD MA and MTS-HD.
Opinions ranged from a huge difference to none.
I'm left with the sense that it probably won't make any difference to the average user, but in truth, I don't know beans about this.
I'm still using my tv's audio output. I'm just glad I don't have to remove the HD audio like I did to play via my older Argosy.
Since I rarely burn media, the difference in file size is negligble...for me anyway.
Besides, I'm planning on a new tv and a decent home theater system for Christmas.
I'd like to get a Bose system, but I don't want to tell the boss (wife) I'm paying more for it than the tv...Last edited by SuperFist; 09-09-2012, 02:15 AM.

Maineman,
As I know that you are an "OLD FART" like me and had a misspent youth with Jimmi Henrix, led Zeppelin, etc, I'll just make a comment from experience.
I have 2 super uBeaut surround systems, 1 Pioneer, 1 Onkyo with huge speakers etc and a Bose SoundLink (A soundbar type system which sits in the front of the TV http://worldwide.bose.com/axa/en_au/...kers/page.html) all connected up. To put in perspective the Onkyo A/V amp alone cost me AUD 3000 while the SoundLink cost me AUD 450.
Guess what gets used 99% of the time? The Bose SoundLink!!!
The big ones rarely get turned on unless I want to piss the neighbours off!!!
