    Burning Error 123

I am using my Blue Ray burner for the first time. It is a LG WH08LS20. I bought some Verbatim BD-R 25GB 4X blank disks. I downloaded your trial DVD burning software. Using the BlueRay to BlueRay software. Was doing the Full disk portion of software. Trying to copy Terminator Salvation. It looked like it copied ok but it got about 2/3 rds way through burning process then stopped. Got "Tasked _ 2 Failed, Error 123. Does that tell anyone anything. THANKS in advance

          Just inspecting your log....

2009-12-09 15:14:01 Info Max Writing speed requested, effective 8.0
          2009-12-09 15:14:01 Info Available write speed: 8x ,4x ,2x

General rule: Always write at half the rated speed of the media. In this case I would be setting 4x.

A good idea is to have a rewritable disk for testing purposes.

Sure no problem as that is why us mods are here to remind the members also maybe pick up some BD-RE (rewritable) blanks till you get it to work how you want it to work like GregiBoy mentioned already. Then you not waste so many expensive blanks

Here is my latest failed burn. I went into settings and set burn speed to 4X and it still errored. And this was just trying to burn Movie only feature.

Also here are some settings that are there:
Default size was set at BD50, should it be set at BD25 1080p ??

Blue Ray write speed set at 4x
Writable Media (BD25) size is at 23700
Writable Media (BD50)size is at 43700

You Can select that at the bottom either way, mine is set at 25gb as the custom setting. writable media size looks ok and is default.

Sounds like the settings are not sticking, did you close Fab and restart? Might try ImgBurn (link in my sig to a great video by Troy512 on how to set it up with Fab including how to set the aws). The VSO burn engine has been buggy for some useres.

Tried ImgBurn. Only tried to do Main Movie and it said there was not enough room on Blank, it said if i wanted to try anyways. I did and it copied all of movie, just not all of the credits at end. It copied 1:51:56 of movie. Doesn't this software compress when it needs to to copy whole movie ?? Here is log

Maybe a thought here. Anyone else having problems burning Terminator Salvation to Blue Ray. Maybe its got something in it that the software cannot pick up that keeps u from burning this DVD. Just saying because it was just released to the public.... It happens sometimes to regular DVD movies.. ??

I haven't tried to copy Salvation yet, but I have had the problem of the compression file being to large to burn to a 25GB disc using the default size of 23,700. It seems to me the Fab does not always stop at the 23,700 mark. You can do a customize size for BD-25 and make it smaller than 23,700.

I was able to get Salvation burned today. I have a customize size of 21,500 for BD-25. That size has worked for me consistently. Sometimes a larger number would work but I got tired of having to redo copying.

                            Wrong Media

Ok so i'm not having much luck burning these Blue Rays. I've come to the conclusion that i have bought the wrong Media. To do a Blue ray Movie, be it Full movie burn or Movie only burn the 25GB Verbatim Media i have just doesn't have enough room on it. Looks like i need to get the 50GB Media which is like 15-18 dollars a single blank to be able to burn a Blue Ray Movie. So i'm guessing that Blue Ray technology does not do any compressing of files so that if the Blue Ray Movie shows it has 39,629 whatevers and the blank Blue Ray Dvd only shows it has 23,570 whatevers of space, the software will not do any compressing. Is that about right........

Sure it will fit on a 25GB disc. Go in to common settings, and click on Write under DVD / Blu-ray. Under Blu-ray Writable Media (BD-25) Size click on the dropdown and pick customize. Try lowering it to 22,500 or a little lower. I would recommend getting a BD-RE to use until you get a good burn.
Some users may have good luck with the default setting all of the time, but it has not been my experience.
