I think those read error messages indicate a problem on the disk. Clean it and try again.

However, I was never able to compress this movie to BD25. I did clone it to a 31GB ISO image but I was not successful in compressing it to 25GB. I tried 4 different versions of DVDFab with gtx570, gtx460, lightning encode and software only but the compression to 25GB paused at the same %25 done location. I ended up buying a BD-R DL and burning the original 31gb image.

FWIW, I attached the log from the last attempt. It took "only" 79 minutes to get to %25 done but after 4 more hours it had not budged from %25 and I canceled the compression and then used nero to burn the original iso.

You might try just cloning the image to ISO and see if that works.

Jonatan and others have copied this movie so I cannot account for why I had problems unless the region and/or the disk was different. This was a used disk I bought from blockbuster rental but it was clean and I was able to clone it OK so I dont know why the compression failed.

Sorry I wasn't a little more specific. I get this error message when I first put the disk in the drive, and it begins to analyze it. I have cleaned the disc multiple times, and get the same message.

With read errors like that and cleaning does not help there are only a few things you can do. I recommend trying to play the movie on your system using a software media player (DVDFab's, Nero Kwik, PowerDVD, etc). If you dont have one, you can usually download a free trial. If it wont even play then see if it plays (error free) on a regular set-top bluray player. Set-tops do not retry as many times as Windows does and a pc/mac compatible BD device does addional retries on its own before reporting an error to its windows device handler.

I had two movies that played on a set-top but windows 7 did not even recognize the disk as being valid when inserted. You dont have that problem since the title shows up in the log. I also see you have the latest firmware, 1.21. I have 1.20 on my own 207D.

If the disk has a defect, it should show up as a read error in windows 7 event logs in addition to the DVDFab log. A dialog box should also have popped up asking if you want to ignore errors.

You might try waiting out the read errors: In settings, set the retry to 0 and the skip sectors to the maximum.

Alternately, you can try a different manufactures blu-ray player. I have an LG WH10LS30 and that same 207D that you have. Sometimes a disk that cannot be read on my LG reads just fine on the Pioneer and vice-versa.

Question: I see you have windows on your F drive which is unusual. Is this a MAC running parallels or some virtual program? I got my 207D last year from a Mac dealer and he had both the 207DBK and the 207D. I think there was a firmware version for mac's that was different from a pc machine. I just went to Pioneers download site and they have both 1.20 and 1.21 available. If I have a problem with 1.21 it looks like I can go back to 1.20.

[EDIT] I just upgraded my firmware to 1.21. Hopefully there will be no problems.

Well my 207D won't play the movie. Not with any player that says it will play blu-ray movies. However my sony blu-ray player reads it. So there must be something with the 207D. To answer BeemerBiker's question regarding my F drive, no, windows is installed on my C drive. I have my hard drive partitioned into 3 separate drives and I install most of my programs on the F drive, the one with the most storage. Side note: before I even bought this blu-ray burner, it was highly recommended, by users who previously purchased it, to upgrade the firmware.
