Yep - players licensed prior to February can remain free of cinavia. My understanding is that the current Oppo models are also cinavia free. I plan to stick with my Sony models all licensed & made prior to February, 2012 and be extra careful what firmware updates are applied, because there is no guarantee that the next firmware update won't include something you do not want, and we know of no way to go back afterwards.

I have a question re: a media player. Can you feed it a blu ray file (full disc mode on dvdfab) from an ntfs formatted hard drive. This is how I watch some of my back up copies via AVCHD Manager (tool used to set default movie). This way I get the whole blu-ray including previews, menus, etc with no compression of video or sound. I do own a Cinavia free player but was curious of another alternative for my bedroom. Thanks 2 anyone who responds.

        Hi akadennis
Here is the link to the media player that Jonatan owns http://pivos-aios.wikidot.com/
From what it says Full BR ISO support with MENU I'm guessing it will, but maybe Jonatan will chime in and give you a better answer.

I have an AIOS and you don't have to install an HDD but why wouldn't you? It is a hot swap bay and it takes about 10 seconds. I have an HDD dock so swapping and loading is a snap. If you happen to have an external optical drive just plug it into one of the USB ports and have a Cinavia free disc player as well.
How to post the internal log

thanks, basically I just want something that I can plug my external HD to and play back all my full disc blu-ray back ups with no compression of video or sound.

hello again, another question before i purchase. currently i backup my movies using dvdfab full movie mode into an external HD. I then use AVCHD Manager to identify (probably not necessary) and select movie as default. Selecting a default basically renames the movie folder to AVCHD. I then plug my external HD to my Cinavia free blu-ray player and navigate to Video and select my USB HD and play the AVCHD Folder and the movie plays exactly like the original blu-ray. I get one message (Cannot correctly identify disc. Cannot use network function of the disc) which goes away after a quick second and the movie plays fine. With the AIOS do I have to rename movie folder to AVCHD or does it play it fine without renaming and does the movie playback in 1080/24p? I know it supports FULL HD, it just doesnt mention 24p. Thanks again for your help and apologies for the long post :-)

BR ISO, do I get this when I select Blu-Ray copy Full Disc? Sorry for the dumb question it just came to me on the bus :-) I normally see a bunch of files with the mt2s extension.

I dont play iso all my rips are mkv i use no menue but i went over to the aios fourm and found this reply think it will be helpful

This come from the man who creates the firmware

                            Re: Original Bluray Menu Support?

First be sure you are using the latest firmware (2.8.3.2). Next is the encryption (and region locks) removed from the copy ? (i.e. which program have you used for ripping). Finally, which version is the bluray menu ? BR 2.0 menus (java based) doesn't work.
If you have any other question i would go over to the aios fourm there is great support of there
                            Hope it helps
