Please set Software as decoder & encoder in Common Settings -> A/V Codec and have a try!

If still reproduced please post your Internal log.

thanks for the solution. it seems to be working. but dang, 6hours to finish process? how come cuda is not working? is it something wrong with my gtx670 NVidia driver or windows 8? or is it dvd fab itself?
