    DVDFab Compatibility with Pioneer BDR2207 and BDR2208 Blu-Ray Burners

    Has anyone experienced any problems using either of the Pioneer BDR2207 or BDR2208 series of blu-ray burners using DVDFab to write/copy a blu-ray movie to disc?

    If you're using or having success in using either of those Pioneer blu-ray units with DVDFab to write/copy blu-ray movies, PLEASE let me know how you're accomplishing this!!

    PROBLEM:
    I've just purchased the Pioneer units. I wanted upgrade my system, and migrate from LG to Pioneer blu-ray writers. (I'm wondering if I missed something in the process?)

    I can't successfully write a 21.9 GB blu-ray movie to disc using either of the Pioneer systems. I'm using the DVDFab Blu-Ray Copy function. The movie was previously saved to an internal HDD also using DVDFab.

    The copy process slows down to a crawl within a few minute. The process starts at about 4 MP/S, then slowly goes down to almost zero (0.02 MP/S).

    I finally had to stop the writing process because the required time to copy keeps creeping up to over several hours. And, when I finally hit the "Cancel" switch on DVDFab copy process, DVDFab goes to Never-Neverland. My only recourse after that, is to use the Win7 "Task Master" function to abort the session.

    TRIED THE FOLLOWING TO NO AVAIL:
    - Encountered similar/same problem using either Pioneer BDR2207 or BDR2208.
    - Same blu-ray movie file write nicely disc (about 20 minutes) using my original internal BR burner (LG WH10LS30) and an external LG blu-ray writer (BE12LU38).
    - Tried swapping SATA ports with the LG writer, but got the same results.
    - Tried using the SATA 6.0 Gb/s port vice 3.0 Gb/s port, but got same results.

    Would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving or uncovering the cause of this problem.

    Thank You in Advance,
    GadgetVictim

      @Jonatan,
      Is this the log: "dvdfab_internal.log"? If so, I looked at it, but can't interpret and make sense of it. This log is very long, so I don't think I need to send the entire log. I suppose its okay to trim and just include the parts related to using the Pioneer burners.

      Don't get me wrong, and I don't mind post the log if someone is willing to help. So if I post it, is there someone on this forum that will give me some feedback and analysis of this log? Is this person you, or someone associated with DVDfab?

        Update: Found Related Posting

        This is an update to my previous posting:

        I just found that forum member "bobmitch", had posted an identical problem that he had encountered with both Pioneer systems. Prior to posting this problem, I did do my due diligence and performed a search on both BDR2207 and 2208. I only found his posting after using the word "pioneer" in my search. (See: )

        After reading thru the threads in his posting, I'm not sure whether he's resolved this problem or not? The symptoms of the problem were almost identical to my problems. It looks like he switched over to Win8 (I'm on Win7), and did something with CUDA. Not sure if anything was said about how or if the problem got fixed. As I'm not an IT pro, maybe someone help me to seperate the wheat from the chaff on the related postings.

        I've only had my system a few days, and have not tested the Pioneer on any DVD write functions via DVDFab. I've only tested my system on (and it fails on) the DVDFab Blu-Ray write to disc function.

        Both Pioneer systems reads from disc beautifully and fast. The BDR2208 copies a 21.9 GB movie from disc to hdd in about 12 minutes using the DVDFab Blu-Ray copy function.

        I've also posted a reply on bobmitch's post, asking him (or someone in the know) to contact me on where he stands on this problem.

            Hi GadgetVictim
            Bobmitch's problem was due to the fact that he was running Bitdefender, and even though he had Fab in the exclusions, he had to uninstall Bitdefender and problems went away.

              @Jonatan:
              Below provides copies of both my "internal" and "burn" logs.
              I've provided samples starting with the most current log input and included a few more. (Had to keep short because forum editor rejected first send)
              Kinda makes me feel like I'm lifting up my kilts.
              Let me know it this is enough?

              NOTE:
              I the blu-ray movie "Prometheus" is the file that I used to test my 2208/2207.
              Also, that I have recently used several blu ray writers: LG WH10LS30, LG BE12LU38, and BRD2208.

              @CRB929:
              I have no clue what "Bitdefender" is, or where it resides. What does it do, and where is it located? Do you think it's causing me same problem as Bobmitch?

              Thanks for taking the time to help.
              Regards, GadgetVictim

                  Jonatan,
                  I'm on the road now, and will get to you on this when I get home.
                  Remember, I had to cancel my DVDFab write process and abort DVDFab wih Task master. Gota take care of some stuff now, and get back to you as soon as I get back.
                  Thanks,
                  GV

                      Both drives shown in the OP's log are LG drives. Are these Pioneer drives reboxed LGs?
                      How to post the internal log

                          @Jonatan
                          Hope the below is not too long winded.

                          As previously mentioned, on every problem session, pressing the DVDFab "cancel" process feature sent the program into Never Neverland. Had to use MS Task Master to end the DVDFab session. Even with the DVDfab session terminated, the 2208 disc kept racing along at a high rate of speed. Pressing the disc ejection button produced no response. The only way to get the burner to stop racing, was to hit the PC power switch.

                          Looks like you may be on the right track. I'm using the Optical Quantum BD-R 25 GB 4X Speed discs.
                          - Could the 4X speed of the OQ discs be too slow for the Pioneer burners.
                          - Could the burner be trying to write at a higher rate of speed then this disc can handle?
                          - Could this be causing the burner's disc rotational speed to get out of kilter in the attempt to sync up the writing process between the burner and disc?

                          Per your post, reducing the write speed could resolve this problem.
                          - What's an "... d/l img burn...”? And how do I do this?
                          - Can you point me to info on how do to go about adjusting the disc write speed?
                          - Would this adjustment be contained in the Cyberlink software package that was included with the unit? I've not loaded this software as yet because of a bad experience with the previous Cyberlink's software package that was included with my LG system. (Another horror story)

                          I guess my first step is to see if reducing the write speed will cure my problem. Seems this solution path maybe analogist to owning a Lamborghini, and only being able to drive it 10 MPH.

                          Base on rely received, seems like this problem may be unique to the 2207 and 2208. The BDR207 has a write speed (12X) comparable to the 2207.

                          Any help or answers you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

                          Thank You,

                              Hi GadgetVictim
                              Bitdefender is a anti virus software, so if you do not know what it is you must not have it installed.
                              Your burn logs were not showing a complete burn,"where an actual burn occurred", if you have a complete burn log please post it.
                              Thanks
