Progress burn runs indefinitely some BR movies

I use BR copy in the following manner. I copy the BR movie to hard disk as BD50 main movie, then later I burn that image from the hard disk onto a BD25. I used to burn direct to BD25 but had some issues so I burn to HD first. Lately, past several weeks I try to do the burn and the progress gets to ~25% thru and sits there running for hours (progress numeric is still counting so it's not frozen). I abort and try another movie from the hard disk and it runs fine. It seems to be certain movies of late. I end up just keeping them on the hard drive and watching with Fab media player which plays fine. I even tried new version 9.0.1.5 and get same problem. This is a new situation, What could be causing this?

Please post your dvdfab_internal.log and burn log, thanks!

Burn log is zero bytes. It gets 1/4 way through and sits forever on this movie. Others work fine.

        Hi coolecho
What burn engine are you using?
Maybe try switching burn engines will help e.g. if using the VSO switch to the DVD Fab burn engine or ImgBurn.

If you would like to use the ImgBurn burn engine you will find instructions in the link in my signature on installing it and setting it up with Fab.

Your drive also has firmware updates which might help, you will find the latest here
NOTE: If you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless.

        Hope this helps

Edit: What movie are you having problems with?
Try using the original disc and not a folder.
You may also want to uninstall the version of Fab 8 your using clean the registry with CCleaner until nothing is found and downloading a fresh installer and reinstall Fab.
The reason I'm asking you to do this is your log looks strange

          Hello,

I updated the DVD drive firmware, and deinstalled and reinstalled ver 8.2.2.6. I still have the problem. I'm confused on setting up instructions for the Imgburn. What would be the easy settings for Imgburn so I don't have to mess with disk speed settings. I don't even know what the disk speeds are they are not marked either. With this problem it doesn't even get to the burning. It just gets stuck forever at section "Source(0000X.m2ts)" with ETA counters still going and going. Can DVDFab 9 burn from folders on the disk?

Tried similar process (program still freezes)

            Source(00000.m2ts)
            Task 1/2
            98.14% (Task Time Left: 00:00:00)

I burned to hard drive at 50 gig setting (disc is only 23 gigs) and tried to compress to disk at 25 gig setting and the program got about as far and froze. This is a recurring event and needs to be addressed.
            Thank you!

If the disc is 23GB it should not need compression at all. The real capacity of a blank 25GB blank is 23.28GB.

Disc size < 25 gig blank

The program is still requesting a dual layer media. Don't ask me, because I surely don't know! (Just one more glitch that needs to be addressed!)

                  Hi earthdog
Have you ever tried using an older version of Fab like 8085, many members still use it!
                  It can be found here
This was the last version before Fab went to Qt versions.
Give it a try you have nothing to loose.
                  Hope this helps

DVDFab 8 used to work fine burning to hard drive then burn to disk later, and it should still work. We shouldn't have to down rev to 8.0.8.5! Is this going to be fixed? We do have something to lose... the product improvements in later versions.

Please, I asked earlier about whether DVDFab 9 can burn from image on hard disk. Can someone answer this?

                    Thanks

Yes it can. Select the source/click the "BURN" tab/select the target and you are good to go.

DVDFab 9.022 Does not burn the BD folders off of the hard drive either. It sits forever same as Ver 8.

There is an issue here with burning to hard drive, then burning those folders to a disk. Why is no one addressing this?

Most probably because you seem to be the only one having this problem.

If you read the post another member does have the same problem.
So that's the way DVDFab support is? Give up?

No, but do what others have already told you.

                              1. Set up ImgBurn
                              2. Turn off ALL GPU crap.
                              3. See if you can get a burn log so that we have at least some indication of the problem.
