@ ENDUSER9999 - No I haven't compressed any disk images as I want to keep 1:1 sound/audio quality. I just make 3d .iso main movie to remove unwanted audio tracks.

*@ Glenns - As regards my cables and AV receiver, they are all 1.4 compliant. My FW on the media player is always the latest . HD audio output is set to raw.My mediaplayer can play DTS-HD/TRUE-HD fine on my full disk backups (3d.iso format) Im just having the following problem.*

Basically what is happening is this...

.*The full 3d .iso rip of my Avatar disk plays back fine in the mediaplayer, all audio tracks work fine inc English DTS-HD.The Main Movie 3d .iso backup I made with Dvdfab which ONLY contains English DTS-HD audio, the video is fine which plays in 3D (that problem solved thank you !!) but the audio keeps dropping out every few minutes - by that i mean audio disappears & I have to stop and restart the movie to get audio back.As mentioned though it could be a problem with the HiMedia 900b mediaplayer, but its odd how the untouched full .iso is fine, yet the main movie backup done by Fab gives me those issues.*

I need to investigate this further with some more tests which I can do later in the week when im back at home.

Trickster:Ok i am glad i got your 3d problem solved now as to the audio dropping out only on main movie and not full disk iso's some things to try when you get home.

Try playing the main movie on a software player on your computer their are free ones like Nvidia 3d vision video player you can download from the Internet just to try to play the main movie hd sound to see if it plays on the computer soft wear player with out the sound dropping out.Even if you just play the regular blu ray non 3d part of the 3d movie it will tell you if the media player is at fault. If you are streaming the output over a network to your tv that can bring up other problems so use hdmi for best results.

Also make sure your cloning the store brought disk to hard drive using fab.

OK this is what I found out so far...

I installed a power DVD viewer program that lets me view Blu-ray discs directly on the PC monitor without any issues. Since my Blu-ray burner supports 3D playback and record, I can confirm on the computer monitor screen that the original video is in fact playing in 3D.

I copied the original disc using the folder and iso methods directly to the HD without compression and I can confirm that both the saved folder and iso images play back in 3D!

I then compressed the above iso image to BD25 size and saved that image back to another folder on the HD and when I played the compressed iso image directly from the HD folder, it is in fact 3D!

I'm now compressing the folder image to BD25 and will report the results.

          >>> I can see now that the problem occurs when DVDFab burns the compressed image back on to the Blu-ray disc, this step is where the 3D image fails to copy on to the Blu-ray disc.

Have you tried installing the K-Lite Codec Pack. This solved a lot of audio video headaches for me.

Enduser9999 When you put the movie back into fab that was reduced by fab from 50 gigs to 25 gigs or less did you use fab to burn the 3d file to disk?
If not you must use fab to burn the disk like this.

Open fab version 8 blu ray 3d copy, scroll down to write data, put in your fab reduced to 25 gig 3d movie then hit start and this will keep the 3d files in the burned movie.

In version 9 of fab open fab blu ray copy then select burn put the movie in and burn the disk.

P.S. Fab burner must be selected in the fab softwear settings.

                Glenns,

Yes I use DVDFab to burn the compressed image to disk. I even went as far as to remove all other burning programs from the HD just in case they were causing contention. I also verified that the burn engine in fab is set to DVDFab burning engine.

I'm wondering now if there is a comparability issues between my Blu-ray burner and fab when burning 3D images to disc. I'm using the LG WH14NS40

I don't think its your burner at all please post the fab log files.

Go to documents, fab program, look for log files, then open them their you find burn and internal files you cut and paste these files to note pad.Cut and paste the latest files that you had trouble with not all of them do this for the burn file also and post them here in a post using cut and paste.

These files will tell us exactly what you did. Then we will look at them and see where you went wrong or if theirs a error or a bug in the fab program.

Try virtual drive load the reduced fab iso into virtual drive then use the fab burner in bluray copy but post the log files first so we can see what steps you took exactly.

                    Hi,enduser9999
Whether to mount the dvdfab.miniso file to DVDFab Virtual Drive and then use it as source?

                      Problem solved!

The step I was missing was the "scroll down to write data" under Blu-ray copy after the file or iso was compressed. I kept selecting main movie under Blu-ray copy instead of the Write Data.

This part of the process was very confusing because you then get to pick the Source as your compressed saved file or iso then write it back to your Target BD25 disc. This did the trick.

Thank you Glenns for your detailed information, and steps much appreciated.

The copy plays in 3D on the computer without any problems but when I play it on the LG 3D Blu-ray player on the 3D TV it will only play back in 2D. Bummer

isnt there an option on the players remote to force it to into 3d mode?

Did you load the reduced 25 gig file into virtual drive and use it as source to burn the movie? This may solve your problem of no 3d on your player.

What software program did you use on the computer to play the disk in 3d?
The more info. you give us the better.Log files tell a lot of info.and you really should learn to include them whenever you have a problem with fab.

                            Overview of Virtual Drive

DVDFab Virtual Drive is a virtual emulator for both DVD and Blu-ray. It can emulate up to 18 drives and mount DVD/Blu-ray ISO image files created by DVDFab and other programs, and .miniso file created by DVDFab Blu-ray Copy.
For example, if you want to play a Blu-ray ISO image file backup on your computer, you need to mount it with DVDFab Virtual Drive, then, play it with PowerDVD.
It has some settings for your using habit and convenience, and enables you to go to its forum for more information just by one click.

Yes there is. I played with that but even with the 3D settings the video shown is not 3D.

                                1. Yes I did.
                                2. No I did not use it that way.
                                3. Power DVD 12

The logs seem to get wiped out when DVDFab is closed. When I go find then they are not there. If I open DVDFab is see new logs created but they contain no burn information.

I decided to go back and check all the other discs that I had burned using the default VSO burning engine, then DVDFab burning engine, both folder, and iso files and they all play in 3D on the computer, but not on the TV.

I still have the compressed disc image on the HD, I will burn another copy using the virtual drive.
