Unable to compress blu-rays, Fabcore error

I have been using DVDFab for years backing up my movies and have never had problems until now. I started being unable to compress when I loaded version 8.2.2.6QT, I have also tried the following with the same results, 8.0.8.5, 8.2.2.7QT, 9.0.2.6, and 9.0.2.7beta.

I have been trying to backup Starship Troopers, main movie only, it stops at 11.07% every time. Most times I will come back to my computer and see that the time keeps counting up but the % has stopped, occasionally it will bring up a window saying that Fabcore.exe has crashed, and when I click to cancel when it stops it always says Fabcore has crashed.

It copies full disc and main movie when no compression is needed.

I have enabled/disabled accelerators, uninstalled/installed many times, burnt the full disc to hard drive and tried to compress from that, even uninstalled/reinstalled Visual C++ 2008 and 2010 because it was mentioned under an older posting. Nothing is helping.

Using Win7 Pro 64bit, 3770k intel cpu, Pioneer BDR-207D burner, DVDFab is on my ss drive but have all the outputs set to platter hd.

This is happening for all discs I have tried needing compression, latest attempt was for Babylon A.D., that one gets to 13% iirc then stops. The logs don't tell me anything since it is all going well, seems to stop recording, then I cancel the process.

Try checking the disable all gpu acceleration(1) for video decoding off in fab settings and try again with all software.

Enable software encoding only and post another log.

Upgrade your Pioneer firmware too. I have the same drive, latest firmware is 1.30.

Here is the log with gpu disabled. Marty the only reason I had not upgraded to 1.3 is that Pioneers site still showed 1.21 for the drive and I was not sure if the newer one was legit. Also including a pic with the fabcore error shown, below the log.

codecs.dll is mentioned in the crash screen capture, have you installed or updated any codecs?

Maybe something like Shark007's codecs?

What are you using for an anti virus?
Did you use some sort of registry cleaner after uninstall in your previous attenmpts?
If not, use CCleaner found here http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Use the cleaner option making sure that the Old Prefetch is checked in advanced options until nothing is found, then run the registry cleaner until nothing is found.
Download a fresh installer from here for version 8 http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm and version 9 http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=DVDFAB9_BETA
Do not install the installers, instead click save, then go to your download folder and right click the installer, click run as administrator.

Using Bitdefender, I had Kaspersky until recently...near when Fab stopped working come to think of it, uninstalled and put on the new one. With Kaspersky I always disabled it before I ran Fab, Bitdefender doesn't have that option. When I took off Visual C++ 2008 Bitdefender stopped running as that was required, I tried running Fab many times with no AV working and same result.

I always use CCleaner after uninstallations and clean the registry. I did not see an 'old prefetch' option, but there is a 24 hour delay default option for temp files that I turned off, newest version of CCleaner. Uninstalled ran the cleaner, registry, restart, clean, registry, rinse and repeat. Downloaded and installed new version of DVDFab 9 using the run as administator option.

It stopped at the same point as before

Hi Grieverr
Glad it's working for you now.
Bitdefender has been known to cause problems with Fab, even trying to disable it did not work, you would have to uninstall it for Fab to work.

Now you have it working you might want to try Quick Sync. It's much quicker than using the video card.
