Backup copy of the Bible Playback Issues

I used CLONE and then Burned with ImgBurn. The resultant Blu-Ray disk plays fine on my new ASUS computer, but does NOT playback on my older Sony Blu-Ray player (Model BDP-BX37). I get nothing but a black screen, the disk goes to counter 0000, but never begins playing. I have the very latest firmware on the BX37, but it's pretty old - it seems Sony has done me wrong and is forcing me to buy a new Blu-Ray player to play "newer" Blu-Ray disks? If I put the ORIGINAL Blu-Ray from The Bible into my Sony Player it PLAYS. Only my Backup won't play AT ALL. I'm dazed and confused... any suggestions?

Although the logs options are all selected in DVDFab 9.0.3.5 Beta, there are NO log files in the log directory! It's totally empty! (?). I just upgraded to 9.0.3.5 last night, but I did the DVD fab copy job AFTER upgrading!?

If I use the Full Disk option instead of CLONE, the resultant DVD copy (the copy burned using ImgBurn) will try to load, but then I get a message "Cannot Correctly Identify Disk Cannot Use Network Function of Disk."

The ORIGINAL DVD (not the backup copy) plays perfectly fine on my Sony BDP-BX37. The last firmware update Sony did was #769 which IS loaded onto my player. There is nothing newer available.

What's throwing me is the original disk plays just fine - so there is some problem in DVDFab that is causing the backup copies to not play as expected.

Both FULL DISK and CLONE DISK copie created fine to my hard drive and then burned with ImgBurn with no errors reported - but again will not playback in my Sony Player. They WILL both playback using Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 on my ASUS desktop.

Clone Disk copy doesn't play at all, the counter moves up to 0000 but never tries to go further. The FULL DISK copy won't even do that but yield the Cannot Correctly Identify Disk and Cannot Use Network Function of Disk. I tried turning off BD-LIVE (disabling the network connection on the player) NO JOY.

So I have not a clue. No clue why the log folder is blank either?

Does the log folder get emptied out when you close DVDFab?

I just tried to reimage the original disk1 using Full Disc option and got the same onscreen error as before:

Cannot correctly identify disk

Cannot use Network Function of disk...

???

I have burned way too many coasters on double layer BD media trying to make this work!

Anyone??

Now I have unchecked the CUDA option in AV CODEC setup options for DVDFab and am reburning the CLONE image first to a file then to yet another double-layer (BD50) blank media.

Honestly, I've never had this much trouble with DVDFab. I would have thought that a bit-by-bit exact image would work - but not so far. All I can think of is the CUDA option might be a problem. Video card is EVGA GTX690.

Could you also post your burn log?
The only thing I found on this error is that a member installed 8085 for their back up and had no trouble with their movie after using that version.

Turns out the firmware, which hasn't been updated since May 2011 (and there are NO newer firmware updates) may have been the culprit, elsewise the Java implementation in the brand-new Sony BluRay player is superior to the older version in the player I replaced. For $119, it was a no-brainer. I was spending $3 a disc on what I thought were duds (when in fact they play fine).

Thanks for your help. I got suspicious when the backup copies would play in my PC via Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 - but not in my 2+ year-old Sony BD Player. I figured why not try it and see what happens? Glad I did. Thanks again.

I've tried 5 times to get Disc 1 on a BD25 blank - failed every time. Player says it's an incompatible disc and VLC on computer says, "Blu-Ray error: Path doesn't appear to be a bluray Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///E:/'. Check the log for details."

I tried Disc 2 with success. Disc 3 failed twice so I quit burning coasters. Have not tried Disc 4. At this rate, it would more cost effective to buy a Second copy as a backup copy of the main DVD set.

It's my understanding that the BD-Java portion of the disc is the only culprit preventing the older Blu-ray player from playing the disc. I have experienced this only on FULL movie backups as opposed to MOVIE ONLY backups. Movie Only seems to remove the BD-Java portion of the disc and doesn't cause such hangups.
