    Correct Blu Ray backup settings

I want to make a backup/clone of my blu ray film onto my hardrive then burn it onto my blank BD 25 discs so that i can then watch my discs in a normal standalone blu ray player.

First time i tried this method i got it wrong, i copied my blu ray to my hard drive and produced the following foldrers...

MainMovie > Blu Ray_Title>BDMV>STREAM> Just one whole AVCHD Video

I tried to burn this file to a BD25 but it wouldnt play in my standalone Br player

Any idea how i make a blu ray copy on my hard drive and get all the following relevant folders ..

    AUXDATA>BACKUP>BDJO>CLIPINF>JAR>META>PLAYLIST>STRE AM > AVCHD Video's (Multiple video's split)

I should be able to burn the above file straight to blu ray disc then watch it in a blu ray player but don't know how to perform the procedure ?

Clone the 50 gig disk to hard drive then close fab.Reopen Fab put the 50 gig clone back in fab and select blu ray copy for full disk or select main movie for just the main movie then make sure the box on the bottom says 25 gigs then select start fab reduces the movie to about 23 gigs this take's hours and does the burn for you when done. You put the blank disk in when it asks you or after you make the 50 gig clone simple. If you need picture type help the step by step with pictures directions links should be on Fabs front page.

Thanks for the response glenns .
Just realised i wasted all that time for nothing
I'm also just wondering why you can't just copy to BD 25 then burn straight away from that folder ?
Why do you have to copy it to your hard drive, then convert it to 25 and then finally burn it ?

You can extract the main movie or full disk from the disk in the drive reduce it to 25 gigs then burn the folder but we normally don't do it because it's much faster to put it on your hard drive and convert from the hard drive plus theirs wear and tear on your blu ray drive having it spin at high speed for hours on end. Also remember electronics hate heat spinning your blu ray burner for hours at high speed creates heat causing breakdowns.

          Good point

          Good point glenns.
I don't think my blu ray drive appreciated being spun at high speed for over 10 hours, it isn't a top quality expensive model anway.

            Blu ray

Can you give me a step by step guide on how to copy a blu ray onto your hard drive to BD 50 .
Then convert the BD 50 to BD 25 so it can be burnt to a BD disc and viewed in a standalone blu ray player ?

            Many thanks

The link takes you to Fab's tutorial page please review the many step by step tutorials with pictures to get use to the program.

You can keep the hd audio in or take it out most leave it in so the same great audio is their. You can copy full disk with all the extra's and trailers or just copy the main movie so this leaves more room for the video to be less compressed.

To copy a full disk or main movie put the disk in the drive select blu ray copy and choice clone to make a exact copy to hard drive make sure you select 50 gig clone takes 40-60 mins Fab put's the folder in the fab file named clone when done close fab.

Take that clone reopen Fab choice main movie or full disk you can drag and drop the clone file into Fab with your mouse make sure the box on the bottom says 25 gig put a 25 gig blank in the drive then hit start hours later Fab will do the shrink to 25 gig and burn the disk for you.Check out the pictures and choices in the many tutorials.
