I noticed that too, I can't select Quick Sync on 9.0.4.1 or 9.0.4.2 even though version 8 on the same computer does use it

The only thing I can think of is I believe you have an external video card, I'm using the Intel HD 4000 graphics. Maybe this is connected to VIRTU.

I have a discrete video card+Virtu but keeping in mind that it works with version 8 installed on the same machine could that still be an issue? Connected to the integrated graphics on the mobo.

Are you using the integrated Intel HD 4000 only Marty?

Yes, I dumped the discrete graphics a while back since it's of no benefit to me. So I'm not using Virtu right now.

Have you tried with the discrete graphics connected to your monitor?

It's really no big deal for me anyway since I use version 8 for my mobile devices anyway.

No I haven't connected to the card, the Virtu instructions say if I want to use Quick Sync I must be connected to the integrated graphics.

No, when I was using Virtu my monitor was always connected to the discrete video card, an NVidia GTX450 in my case.

OK I'll try it, I guess I got hung up on the I mode thing. I figured I'd have to run Fab in I mode to get the speeds I see in version 8.
