    Issues compressing Band of Brothers

    Hey guys,

So I'm having problems compressing my copy of Band of Brothers from BD50 to BD25. I have tried both compressing it to my HDD and directly to bluray with neither process making it into the compression stage before dvdfab crashes (they do make past the analyzing stage though). I can manage to back up the disc if I just do main movie, however, this doesn't require any compression. On a previous thread about this problem it was mentioned that resorting back to a version of DVD fab 8 helped sometimes. I was wondering if anyone had a more permanent solution to this problem. I've attached the log files and here are my system specs:

    OS - Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
    RAM - Patriot 8GB
    Processor - Intel(R) Core i5-3570K CPU @3.40GHz
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Version 327.23
    Motherboard - Asus P8 Z77-V LK

In the future just include(cut and paste the log for the movie your having trouble with). The latest log is at the bottom of the list for internal log, top of list for Fab burn log.

Your last log with band of brothers you were making main movie that needed no compression and you set output for 50 gig disks set it for 25 gig disk at the bottom where it now says 50 gigs and try again.

    0m 42.51s: OutputTarget: BD50

      Sorry about that.

So I'm not sure why the log says OutputTarget: BD50. I just double checked and I had the output set at BD25. It says that on main movie the file is only like 16.2 GB. Anyway that doesn't really matter because I'm trying to back up the full disc. I just tried it on main movie earlier to see if it would work so I could try to narrow down the possible problems.

Toytech:People that have fab check internal have it in the log file's those that don't have it at all like me have Fabs Halloween ghost until the staff get on-line and figure this ghosting problem out.

I reported this issue a while back with an earlier version of DVDFab9. So, that means with your posting, they have yet to fix it.

The unfortunate cure, for the long run, is to compress to BD25 using DVDFab8. That worked for me. I haven't done them all yet.

JBORA: Try 9072 with full disk with setting in Fab set to use all software checked and try again.

I recently tried BoB as well and couldn't shrink any of the discs to fit on a BD25. It's definitely not just you. I tried probably 4 or 5 different Fab versions, including some 8 versions. I eventually just did a straight copy and put them all on BD50's. The show is good enough to warrant it lol. I will be trying The Pacific soon and hope those work better.
