Backups say Wrong Region Code

Over the last few months I have had five backups refuse to play - with the player saying that the have the wrong region code. All are Blu-ray backups to Blu-ray. I have checked the discs on 3 players: Panasonic stand-alone player, Sony PS3 and Nero Blu-ray player on the PC. All discs and players are Blu-ray region B. I have now started checking every backup as soon as it has been made.

What is going wrong please? Has anybody else found that their backups do not play because of the region code?

I should have added that a lot of backups work fine. It's just five that have shown this problem. They were copied over a period of some weeks and I didn't realise that they were no good until I checked one when I was filing them away.

I updated to 9.1.2.2 and tried to copy this again - DVDFab made another coaster.

1. The disc is Our Idiot Brother - blu-ray
2. The disc is Region B
3. I assume my PC blu-ray drive is region B
4. I make a full disc copy onto a 25Gb disc - (the original is 21Gb)
5. The copy will not play in Region B players (I have tried 3) - it says "wrong region code"
6. The original plays in all Region B players

It seems that DVDFab is setting the wrong blu-ray region code when creating copies of a few discs - and this appears to be repeatable.

Check that the region is indeed set on your burner and check these settings in DVDFab:

The Windows setting was right, but for some reason DVDFab was set to Region A instead of Region B. I have no idea why, as I never would have wanted a region A disc. The odd thing was that it worked OK most of the time!
