DVDFab v9.1.5.0 from download Center No Blu-ray Protection removal

Hi All

Just came accross this thread. I am in the UK. Do i still have access to Blu-ray decryption? I Just updated to 9.1.5.0 before seeing this thread. I am assuming i do as this apparently only affects US customers but how does the update know where the customer is based? In other words how do i know i dont have a US update?
For info i downloaded the update through the DVDFAB download centre.

Enjoy your summer I agree that it is an up hill battle but it seems the people in the US have given up the will to fight big goverment and companies like sony which is too bad you buy a Bluray to make a copy of and under the fair use act of 1999 it is legal here which I am sure you know but the greedy bars***ds have the upper hand I agree with you I refuse to buy anything that has the brand name Sony on it or any of their movies now it is plain BS.

Sony certainly seems to have the biggest infatuation with DRM for sure. They appear to be convinced that sending money to verance for cinavia increases their top line sales by something significant (at least more than they send to verance for both software and hardware license fees). Of course that assumes they actually look at it that way and measure correctly . . which might be giving them credit for intelligence beyond what is realistic.
But I doubt Sony is the major culprit regarding DVDFab's current troubles. AACS filed the lawsuit, as I understand, probably just trying to scrape whatever remaining fees are possible since their "protection" scheme seems pretty ineffective and worthless in today's world.

I understand some of the people being upset with the current problem no more BD decryption for USA citizens and Dvdfab can't even sell in the USA because of the redicoulus law suit.

My feelings are Dvdfab has in no way let the USA people down they are doing their very best to help us out and get things back to normal whatever the outcome is in the future.
I haven't got a crytal ball but I am not worried about it either I have a lifetime license for every product dvdfab has and I am not worried, those of you who are should get on the phone with all the senators and house of reps. in your state yes they have phone numbers..and voice your opnion it would be much more effective and helpfull than blaming this all on Dvdfab help out call I have.

If I remember correctly the declaration of independence starts with these words in the USA "we the people" well we the people better get busy and tell out elected offcials we are not happy with this at all exercise your rights or stop crying about what Dvdfab has to do.JMO.

The Declaration of Independence of the USA has little to do with USA consumers current problems with DVDFab. The source of these problems is the DMCA which was passed by congress and signed into law by Bill Clinton when he was president. If you want to mount a campaign, overturning the DMCA is the target. However, as you might imagine, there are some very deep pockets who think their continued highly lucrative personal profitability is far more important than the fair use rights of "the people". I suggest overturning the DMCA is an uphill battle similar to flying to the moon without benefit of a space travel vehicle. But have heart, optical media based entertainment seems to be on a rapid slide into oblivion, hastened by the entertainment industry's misguided constant efforts to make it less consumer friendly, useful and flexible. Once it is mostly dead, AACS's revenue stream from it will dry up also. Maybe they will go bankrupt . . . oh well . .
In the meantime, just stop buying the products . . that is the only thing they care about. Personally, I have plenty of stuff to watch and listen to already. I cut blind buys of all Sony products with audio tracks corrupted with cinavia a long time ago. I have already cut my buying & renting addiction from other studios in half over the last couple of months . . and that is just the start. The sun is out, my golf clubs think this is a great idea, evenings have plenty to enjoy without the latest drivel Hollywood spews out . . :-)

Don't know if this will get me banned, but saw this on another site yesterday,have not tried it, so can't vouch for it. Perhaps it can be used to rip the movie to file and then shrink it with DVDFab?

Why wouldn't it. I have a lifetime license (still says Never Expire). For it to go back to trial version, it would mean DVDFab would have cancel the lifetime membership. If that's the case then they would owe me a refund.

Remember, it's only illegal in the United States so far.

So only the ones who "Access" DVDFab "Directly" from the United States get the "US" version.

I know that you can't purchase or update if you are in the US. If there is some exploit, trick or hack that allows you to do so it is only because the developers of the program haven't found and blocked it yet or it's from some unknown and unlawful source that is beyond their control. This is a poor place to discuss things like this. The enemies of Fair Use are everywhere.

To answer jakish, I don't believe that DVDFab's accusers in the current legal unpleasantness can take something away from you without due process (e.g. invalidate your license). If you believe they have done so, sue them in any federal court in the US. And let us know how it turns out.
