Converted to Dolby AC3

Hi,
Audio (which is AAC in my eaxmple) is always converted to Dolby AC3.
In manual, it is done when check "Remove HD Audio" of Advanced Settings.
But this can't be checked because it's not selectable with gray out.

I also use Passkey, it doesn't convert about the same disc, so AAC.

I think I can't write well what I want to question.

I don't want to convert AAC to AC3, but Fab converts.
(Ver.9.2.1.4 is same results.)
Is there any way to avoid it?

Request the fix (can't remain the Audio as same as the Disc)

I suppose if because of HDDecrypter (free version).

So I purchased, registed and tested the latest version 9.2.1.6 beta.
The result was same. (AAC converted to AC-3)

Is it the bug? or becuse of my wrong usage?
(The output of Passkey can remain it.)

I hope it become possible to remain the Audio as same as the Disc.

Do you say about "Ripper", not "Copy" ?

I tried it.
So certainly it become possible to remain the Audio as same as Disc, but the Video seemes to change even if "video copy".
The size of file is reduced, so I examined, then bitrate is lower than the Disc. (When " copy", the Video(bitrate) is same as the Disc.

It appears from your screenshots you are making an mp4 file, if you want both audio and video unchanged from the disc try "mp4 passthrough" as the name suggests the audio and video are passed through to the mp4 container uncompressed.

I tried it.
The result was same as previous (which is selectinig "MP4" and checking both "Copy Video" & "Copy Audio". The size of file is reduced and bitrate is lower than the Disc.

Sorry to confuse.
I'm going to post here about "Blu-ray Copy", not "Blu-ray Ripper".
I　attached 2 screen-shots,
*left one is of "Blu-ray Copy", and I want to say that the Audio of Disc is "AAC" and setting should remain "AAC".
*right one is of "Blu-ray Ripper", and I want to say that the output of "Blu-ray Copy" doesn't remain "AAC" though the output of "Passkey" correctly remains "AAC".
I just want to simply copy the Disc like "Passkey".

What is the source of what you are trying to convert/copy? Something about AAC stuck in my mind, so I pulled the specification for Blu-Ray and the something about AAC was correct. And that is AAC is NOT a supported Blu-ray audio format.

I want to copy this Disc without converting.

And that is AAC is NOT a supported Blu-ray audio format.

Is it mean DVDFab can't copy TV program recording Disc ?
(Passkey can copy it.)

I confirmed about it.
It seems to be AAC is supported by BDAV.

There seems to be 2 kinds of Blu-ray Disc.
(1)BDMV(BD-Video)
It supports Linear PCM, Dolby AC-3, Dolby Digital+*, Dolby TrueHD*, DTS Digital Surround, and DTS-HD Master Audio. (*;option)
(2)BDAV
It supports AAC and Dolby AC-3.
(I think these relation are like DVD-Video and DVD-VR).

The Blu-ray Disc Demystified book did not provide info on the audio formats for BDAV. But, it did say that it was meant for broadcast recording. So, if the broadcast recording has AAC, it must be able to handle it. I missed that in the book originally. But I didn't know your source either.

I personally prefer AC3. But, AAC is used for DVB-T2 (in the U.K. at least) because of the following (as provided by a U.K. TV engineer):

So, what does this mean for DVDFab9? It would seem that the programmers need to be more BDAV compliant as well. Hopefully they will take a look at this issue and fix it in an upcoming release.

I hope so.
I hopefully think it's not so difficult for author, because Passkey remains AAC.

I would not notice, if not replaying by GOMplayer. I thought it can replay almost files, but no sounds, and found the reason is to converted to AC-3.

From what I could find out, the player will play video files with AC3. That audio format is supported by everything out there, since it is as old as the hills.

It's resolved now.

AC-3 file has sounds by installing ffdshow (decoder), accoding to FAQ of GOM Player.
It seemed to use Gretech Audio decoder as default.

As you say, it is strange that GOMplayer doesn't have sound and other softplayers have sound even if AC-3.
By the way GOMplayer has sound of VOB file's AC-3.
It will be the problem about GOMplayer itself only.

That is weird, having AC3 playback of DVD VOB files, but not stuff wrapped in MP4.

I tried with using new version 9.2.1.7beta.

The result is same that AAC converted to AC-3.

Hi,

For the recorded BDAV disc, you can use Clone module to get the aac audio.

I tried and succeeded to remain AAC using Clone Module.

By the way, this Fab's feature which can't remain AAC except for Clone Mode is intensional or unexpected?
In the future, is it become to possible to remain AAC by any Mode? Because Clone Mode needs to burn disc.

Clone mode can also make an ISO file.
I think the feature in intentional, AAC is not an allowed audio format for DVD-Video or BDMV-Video AFAIK. DVDFab anticipates these source types (except for Converter, Creator and Clone modules).

But AAC is an allowed audio format for BDAV. Discs recorded TV program are BDAV.
