Basic Copy Question: .ISO or Folder with files?

I have been backing up my movies in 2 steps: I backup (BR Copy) to a folder on my hard drive (win 7), then I burn a BR disc from that folder. This works fine.

What I am wondering is if this is the best method for highest picture and audio quality? Should I burn the disc to an .ISO file instead?

It doesn't make any difference, the amount of compression is the deciding factor.
