I would suggest using Image burn it can be found under third party products and a tutorial on how to set it up also your drive needs a firmware update

Check out this thread in general questions(having issues since migrating to Windows 7. ) No Image burn would not help with reading but, it is buy far the best burning program and it's free also a tutorial on how to set it up with DVD Fab is also therein third party products. Also have you gone into device manager and uninstall your drive reboot and let windows reinstall your drivers?

i have vista, and a BSOD, or a hung app on startup, etc., will miss up the registry. google search for this and you will find the answer, i did.
had to edit my registry then magicly my dvd drives showed up again.

I'm having the same issue. The Source pulldown in DVDFab 7.0.3.0 is empty (also with v6). Was fine last week.

I thought I uninstalled all things Sonic, but these filters are still there. Any recommendations on how to get rid of them?

Yes if you not have it already download ImgBurn and install and then run ImgBurn. Once started select Tools-Filter Driver Load Order. You then select the filter you would like to remove and use the Remove Selected Filter option. Do that for both filters and restart. Once computer restarted check to see if they was removed. If they are not removed then start ImgBurn by right clicking the desktop icon and run as administrator instead to see if you can remove themt hat way
