    Issue with HD audio

After attempting 25 disc backups I have to come to the conclusion that DVDFAb "Blu-Ray to Blu-Ray" has serious issues with the transcoding of m2ts streams that contain "high definition" audio like Dolby TrueHd or DTS-HD Master. Attempting to transcode these discs causes the software to hang or crash.

I have tried copying the whole disk to my hard drive and attempting a recompress to BD25 and exactly the same thing happens. If I try this with Dolby Digital 5.1 all is fine.

Are you selecting the remove HD audio option?

The point I made was that removing the HD audio is the only way to copy most disks. But I don't wish to remove the HD audio.

Most attempts to recompress a large movie down to BD25 and keep the HD audio intact results in DVDFab crashing whilst it is transcoding off the disk. Even if I copy the whole disc to the PC's hard drive and try to compress down to BD25 size, the exact same thing happens. The other software I have tried is in beta and works much better than DVDfab. In fact every disc that DVDFab cannot cope with, this other software has done the job without a problem. However, it is incredibly slow, taking 12-16 hours to re-encode.

It is obvious that DVDFab has serious issues with copying discs with HD audio intact and that limits its use severely.

I have not heard other problem reports having to do with keeping the HD audio. In fact, the only problem has been a fixed calculation error when removing HD audio. You might want to provide information described in the Help Us Help You sticky thread at the top of the forum for a better chance of getting some assistance.

I have no problems with keeping the HD audio...on every single movie.

Sounds like a problem on the user end.
