    BD9 1080P or BD9 720P

Is there any difference in quality between the 2? My guess would be no and it's probably better selecting 720p. I'm guessing 1080p mode on a BD9 would do more compressing as oppossed to 720p. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this subject. Thanks to all who respond.

Umm...I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that BD9 1080p will give you more lines of resolution (i.e., detail).

On a more serious note...I would imagine that they each would have their own pros/cons. 1080p will give you more detail, but 720p (because the resulting file size should be similar) should give you less artifacts during motion.

interesting comment. i will test this further with another movie and see if there is a difference. i made a backup of eagle eye using both 1080p and 720p and did not really see a difference but I only looked for about 30 seconds.
